Chiang Mai Ruoanlaittokurssit

Ensinnäkin haluan kiittää lämpimästi Klookin henkilökuntaa. Jostain kumman syystä en saanut vahvistusta ajoneuvon numerosta ja tapaamisajasta. Tunsin oloni masentuneeksi, mutta lähetin viestin Klookille ja sain nopean vastauksen. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä ja onnistui ratkaisumaan ongelman, vaikka otin yhteyttä vielä kello 21 jälkeenkin. Ilman tätä Klookin työntekijää olisimme saattaneet missata tämän kurssin. Pysähdyimme matkalla torille ja tapasimme iloisen kokkimme, joka kävi läpi ainekset, joita tulisimme myöhemmin käyttämään.😀 Valitsemani menu: Tom Yum Goong, Pad Thai, Khao Soi ja thaimaalainen maitotee. Jokainen meistä valmisti oman annoksensa! Kaikki ainekset olivat erittäin tuoreita, ja kaikki oli puhdasta ja järjestettyä. Tämä kurssi antoi meille myös mahdollisuuden tavata mukavia kurssikavereita. :) Kokki oli kärsivällinen, ystävällinen ja piti meitä silmällä koko ajan. Jos nyt aivan pilkkua viilataan, meillä ei ollut tarpeeksi aikaa ottaa valokuvia kauniista puutarhasta! Nautimme tästä aktiviteetista valtavasti, ja suosittelen sitä lämpimästi muillekin!

The cooking class experience was excellent. The market tour guide explained everything very clearly, and our instructor, Mai, was great at creating a fun atmosphere, so everyone had a wonderful time. The food portions were very generous; I recommend bringing a food container to take the dessert back to your hotel to enjoy at your leisure. Also, it's definitely worth paying extra for the air-conditioned room because there are mosquitoes outdoors, and it gets a bit warm after cooking. Enjoying the food in an air-conditioned room is the smart choice! The only downside was that the transfer vehicle didn't have air conditioning, and the staff kept taking photos of us but never shared them. I tried contacting them via email and Facebook Messenger, but received no response. I had assumed that since the staff were taking so many pictures, I didn't need to take many of my family for souvenirs, and now I regret not having those photos. It's a real shame that I can't retrieve them!

Our guide, Ploy brought us to the wet market for some introduction to the ingredient. Then we went to the cooking school, cut some leaves from their garden and begin cooking. The staffs prepped all the ingredient for us, with some minimal cutting, pounding and mixing of ingredients, then begins the cooking. The cooking itself was fast paced cause you cannot let it burn, so you need to catch up fast, but it’s definitely manageable. Overall, it’s an amazing experience to eat what we’ve prepared! Huge kudos to the staffs and chefs there, will definitely come again! Now I can go back home and cook for my loved ones, with the recipe provided!

So tasty! 😍 Jia, Nene and the friendly team made it a really enjoyable experience. We could choose out of a big variety of dishes to create our own menu - with vegetarian option. The ingredients are all fresh and we could see how they grow in the garden. The cooking was very well organised and clean. Good price too, I can absolutely recommend the cooking course 😋

We were picked up in an air-conditioned van, stopped at the market to learn about the ingredients, and then watched the instructor explain and demonstrate the cooking process before preparing our own dishes with the provided ingredients and tasting them. The pacing and depth of the explanation were just right, making it a fun cooking experience. At the end, everyone gets to cook with a spectacular flame show. It was a delicious and incredibly fun time. My daughter, a middle school student, loved it as well. I highly recommend the cooking class at Rice Barn with Teacher Lollipop! I was hesitant at first because there were few reviews, but I am extremely satisfied.

Instructor was funny and engaging! We learnt 11 dishes that night and got to eat and cook at the same time. We are going to recreate some of the simpler dishes back home.

Such a beautiful experience and honestly one of the highlights of my time in Chiang Mai. I had so much fun learning how to make traditional Thai dishes and getting to understand more about the ingredients and the culture behind the food. Everything was so well organised and the whole experience felt really personal and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious and I loved being able to actually make everything myself rather than just watching. I left feeling so happy, so full and with recipes I can hopefully recreate at home 😂 It was such a fun and memorable day and I would genuinely recommend this to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. Definitely one of those experiences I’ll remember from my Thailand trip for a long time! ❤️

Pidimme tunnista kovasti, opettaja Aim oli todella hauska ja mukava. Keittokeskuksen ympäristö oli todella miellyttävä ja kaunis. Jos varaat aamutunnin, voit meloa tai vain rentoutua veden äärellä kokkikurssin jälkeen.

Highly recommend! We weren't in the pickup service area, so we made our way to the market on time. The chef was cheerful and kind! At the market, they introduced us to delicious foods and let us smell the ingredients for the dishes we'd be making, teaching us in a fun way! After about 10 minutes of free time at the market, we moved to a cool, air-conditioned van. Oh, that air conditioning was a lifesaver! The cooking class took place at the chef's house, which didn't have air conditioning but had about four fans. Before we started cooking, the chef even bought us some delicious snacks from the market to try! We made a total of five dishes: the four we chose, plus mango sticky rice. We cooked one dish, tasted it, then moved on to the next. I was surprisingly full, so I barely touched the curry... The ingredient prep area and the cooking area (with flames) were separate. The cooking area was outdoors, so it was quite hot. It might have been even hotter because we visited during a humid period... Still, it was a lot of fun. We could adjust ingredients to our liking, and even though everyone chose different dishes, the chef patiently guided us step-by-step. My friends and I went, and everyone was very satisfied! When it was over, the chef even arranged a taxi for us, so we got back very comfortably. The chef was great, and learning to cook and tasting the food was really enjoyable. I highly recommend this experience if you're in Chiang Mai!
