I recommend visiting Kokura Castle; although it's a reconstructed castle, it offers many interactive experiences for visitors. You can also try on kimonos for free and take photos, and even try horseback archery – it's well worth a visit. If you get off at Kokura, you must try the chicken udon noodles at the platform of Kitakyushu Station, which has a long history; it's very affordable and delicious 😋. Mojiko is a beautiful harbor with a strong European flair, where you can explore various historical buildings and take great photos. Curry is a famous local dish there. Kumamoto Castle, one of Japan's three most famous castles, has several hundred years of history and is a restored castle with great historical value. The castle's main color is black, and its appearance resembles a samurai, giving it a very imposing presence. I suggest taking the tram to Kumamoto Castle to experience the local way of life.

The JR Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass is truly great value. You can use it to take the Haruka express train and Shinkansen with reserved seats from the airport all the way to Hiroshima, as many times as you like. It's really worth it. If you calculate the cost, it will exceed the price of the pass you paid. I highly recommend this pass if you plan to travel along this route; you're guaranteed to get your money's worth.

Este pase fue una excelente manera de experimentar Yanagawa y Dazaifu. El paseo en barco fue la mejor experiencia, ¡especialmente porque era principios de primavera y se podían ver los cerezos en flor colgando sobre los canales! Una vista hermosa. I love the convenience of the JR Pass as it connects all places of interest via Shinkansen. Day 2: Roundtrip bus from Beppu to Yufuin ¥1,880; local bus ride around Beppu; Day 3: Bus from Beppu to Tenjin (¥3,250); local bus ride in Tenjin and Hakata (¥150/ride); RT bus from Tenjin to Tosu Outlet ( ¥1,540). To note: To activate on the day of 1st day of use and should be in front of the ticketing staff so they can print the ticket(bus ride from Tenjin to Beppu). Same with days 2 and 3 activate the day use in front of the ticket staff or bus driver, they check the date: Local rides in Beppu, Yufuin, Tenjin and Hakata no need for reservation just get a small ticket upon entering the bus. Bus rides for Rountrip Beppu- Tenjin and Tenjin to Tosu premium outlets needs reservation ( you can do it online or bus terminal ticket office)

Fui a la estación cuando ya estaba listo. Busqué la hora de salida más cercana una vez en la estación y reservé mi asiento. Incluso puedes ir y tomar el tren y simplemente sentarte en uno no reservado.

I used this pass to visit Kurume and Kokura. I'd been to Shimonoseki twice before, so I skipped it this time. Kurume wasn't actually in my plans, but a train happened to arrive, so I just hopped on for a spontaneous trip, searched online, and ended up admiring the ancient Buddha statue. For reference, you can take bus 31 or 35 from Kurume Station (310 yen) and walk 5-10 minutes to get there. The next day, I went to Kokura, ate burdock udon, and shopped at 2nd Street, haha. Fukuoka is too expensive for me, so Kokura has more affordable brands. I especially found some great deals at Niko and… because their items are pretty and vintage is cheap. If Fukuoka felt like a wall, you can shop for various things in Kokura, haha. When you're on the train, they'll come to check your ticket, so you need to show it on your phone. On the Sonic train, cars 4-7 are non-reserved seats.

This transportation pass is definitely worth buying. You can exchange your voucher at Hiroshima Station, and it allows you to reserve a seat on the Shinkansen six times using a machine. I visited Kurashiki, Onomichi, Fukuyama, Okunoshima, Kure, and Miyajima. For Miyajima, I only had to pay a 100 yen island tax, which was very convenient and practical.
