Kyushu SunQ Pass

Maximized this! 1st day of use : Bus from Tenjin to Beppu(¥3,250); local bus ride worth ¥170 per ride around Beppu . Day 2: Roundtrip bus from Beppu to Yufuin ¥1,880; local bus ride around Beppu; Day 3: Bus from Beppu to Tenjin (¥3,250); local bus ride in Tenjin and Hakata (¥150/ride); RT bus from Tenjin to Tosu Outlet ( ¥1,540). To note: To activate on the day of 1st day of use and should be in front of the ticketing staff so they can print the ticket(bus ride from Tenjin to Beppu). Same with days 2 and 3 activate the day use in front of the ticket staff or bus driver, they check the date: Local rides in Beppu, Yufuin, Tenjin and Hakata no need for reservation just get a small ticket upon entering the bus. Bus rides for Rountrip Beppu- Tenjin and Tenjin to Tosu premium outlets needs reservation ( you can do it online or bus terminal ticket office)

The 2-day Kyushu SUNQ Pass is excellent value, covering all buses in Northern Kyushu. To activate, enter your email, and a password will be sent to your email to unlock the code, which initiates its use. You can then use it to book intercity buses.

I exchanged my pass and visited Kagoshima from Fukuoka, including Sakurajima, the volcanic island. Even with a rough calculation, the round-trip express bus fare alone was 14,000 yen. Adding the ferry and city transportation costs, it would have been about 200,000 Korean Won in total. However, everything was covered by the SunQ Pass. I bought a 4-day All Kyushu Pass for 127,000 won today, and I've already saved about 70,000 won just today. I still have 3 more days to use it. For those traveling to Kyushu, I highly recommend purchasing the SunQ Pass. It saves a lot on transportation costs and is very convenient to use.

It's worth getting the bus pass. You get unlimited travel, and the buses are comfortable for long distances. The JR pass is expensive, and the travel time is almost the same. It's better to get the bus pass. You can also use it for rides within Fukuoka city, so there's no need to buy a subway pass.

Trains are not the only option for traveling in Japan. Buses are also well-routed and provide efficient access to many tourist attractions. I used the 3-day pass and was extremely happy with the experience. The pass covers almost all buses in the region. It's incredibly convenient. I traveled to Beppu, Yufuin, and back to Fukuoka downtown. It's also cheaper than the JR pass.

いつもJRパスを利用していましたが、今回初めてバスパスを試しました。本当に価値があります。高速バスだけでなく、九州の市内バスもカバーしています。とても便利です。 日帰り旅行を想像してみてください。高速バスで熊本に行き、到着後、市内のどこへでも自由に市内バスを利用できます。JRパスと比較すると、到着後に別途一日バスパスなどが必要になる場合があります。 高速バスの運行頻度は良好で、特に主要都市間は便利です。唯一の問題は由布院行きのバスで、早めに予約しないと席がなくなることがあります。 価値のある選択肢です。もしまた九州に行くなら、これからはJRではなくバスパスを利用します。

Extremely good value! We bought the 2-day online pass. On the first day, after clearing immigration, we used the QR code to pick up our pass and reserve seats at the counter for the round trip to Yufuin. If paid separately, this would cost 6,500 yen. On the second day, we woke up early and went to Hakata Station, 3rd floor, to reserve round-trip seats to Beppu. Luckily, we got on a bus that departed at 7:30 AM. If paid separately, this would also cost 6,500 yen. In Beppu, we could use the pass to ride buses to various attractions like Jigoku for free. We just showed the pass to the driver, and looked for the SunQ pass symbol on the side or front of the bus. If it was there, we could ride for free. It was more than worth it, as we only paid 6,000 yen for the pass for two days of travel. Very good value!!

The weather was great on this trip. I used the SUNQ Pass for all my travels, visiting Karatsu, taking a ferry to Mojiko, and using buses in Itoshima and Fukuoka city (those with the SUNQ Pass sticker are also usable), which was very convenient. Please note that if there's heavy rain and a landslide blocks the road, services will be suspended. In June 2024, my round trip to Beppu was suspended for two days. Since I had already arranged hotels, I couldn't cancel. In the end, I had to buy separate JR tickets for both ways. Once the SUNQ Pass is activated, it's non-refundable!

It is a full digital pass. Initially, I thought I needed to collect it from Fukuoka Airport and got confused because of that. Explore Huis Ten Bosch and Beppu with this pass. Overall, it's good.

You can exchange it at Fukuoka Airport; just inform the staff. If you're going from Fukuoka to Kumamoto, there's no need to reserve; you can just present your pass. It can be used for travel in the northern Kyushu area. A trip to Mount Aso is excellent, or you can take a ferry to Shimabara and Nagasaki.
