As my first solo trip,I was scared and doubtfull. The schedule somehow similar to the package,with some changes. Day 1: Tumpak Sewu Driver Andika was punctual and nice.Guide Widodo was helpful and good photographer!He stayed when I struggled climbing up. We stayed at Jamilah H’stay,far from town.The room wasn’t soundproof and the shared toilet was small. But the receptionist was very helpful. Day 2: Seruni Viewpoint Driver Frankie was friendly.We took a jeep near Seruni VP and had no guide, but everything went smoothly.Breakfast was prepared before continue to Kawah Ijen. Day 3: Kawah Ijen Our driver was skillful despite the long journey from Bromo.Hadi Homestay was spacious with better facilities.At 12:30 AM, we started the hike.Our guide Iqbal,was very helpful.Toughest hike,but he brought us to see the blue fire and lake without pressuring.We followed our own pace and made it! Going down,I took the “Lamborghini” for 500k—worth every penny! Tips: Stretch and warm up before hiking!

We booked a package with JVTO via Klook for our 3D2N adventure trip. Shoutout to Fredy and Fauzi for always accommodating to us; from entertaining our nonsense/requests and also for always making us break into laughter with their fresh set of jokes. We are really grateful and thankful to have them as our guide and driver. They make this trip a really stress- free, enjoyable and a memorable one. It was very cold in the morning, but totally worth it. The waterfall at Tumpak Sewu was also spectacular, perfect for photos, and the air was very refreshing. The guide was excellent, constantly reminding us to be safe, and patiently helped us take photos and manage our time. The whole trip went smoothly, and I had a wonderful time 😊"

We had an absolutely wonderful time on this trip. Our guide, Mr. Li, was fantastic; we really hit it off and had great conversations and laughs throughout, like traveling with a friend. He was very professional and entertaining. I'm extremely satisfied with this itinerary; all the guides and drivers we met were very kind and treated us exceptionally well! The itinerary was well-planned, and although we chose economy hotels, the quality of our accommodations was still very high. The transportation was comfortable throughout the entire trip, with no issues. Both Bromo and Ijen were incredibly stunning and beautiful attractions.

Our three-day, two-night East Java volcano tour truly exceeded our entire family's expectations! After booking, we learned that the Ijen crater was closed. The travel agency not only proactively informed us immediately but also actively helped adjust our itinerary. They even added the Madakaripura Waterfall, which unexpectedly became the most surprising and unforgettable memory of our trip. The three-day, two-night private tour was absolutely worth it! We had a dedicated guide and a dedicated driver accompanying us throughout. Our guide, Jiaxin, is a native Indonesian but speaks very fluent Chinese, so communication was completely seamless. Along the way, he not only shared many stories about volcanoes, culture, and local life but also meticulously looked after our family of four. During this trip, my husband, due to severe sleep apnea, had a very strong physical reaction at high altitudes. Jiaxin carefully looked after him the entire way, especially when climbing Ijen Volcano, where he almost constantly accompanied and supported him. This allowed me to confidently care for our two children without having to rush between family members. This level of attentiveness and responsibility truly touched us deeply. (And we even saw the beautiful artificial blue flames at the volcano). Throughout the journey, Jiaxin also adjusted the pace according to our family's condition, arranging breaks as needed, helping with photos, and recommending local delicacies, making the entire trip very relaxed and comfortable. Even at Mount Bromo, because our family's pace was delayed and we missed breakfast, he quietly asked the hotel to save meal boxes for us, so we had food as soon as we returned to the hotel. This was incredibly thoughtful. Additionally, I must commend our driver, Agus Botak. Every day involved long drives of over four hours, and East Java mostly has winding mountain roads, sometimes even requiring early morning departures. Yet, he always remained energetic and drove smoothly, allowing us to rest assured in the car. For families traveling with children, a safe and reliable driver is truly essential. What touched us most was that they didn't treat this job as a routine task but genuinely cared for every traveler. These three days brought us not only beautiful scenery but also warm human kindness. This is also the best experience I've had traveling in Southeast Asia so far, which is why I've written this review very seriously, hoping it can serve as a reference for others. From the travel agency's arrangements and the guide's professionalism to the driver's attentiveness, everything left me with a wonderful impression of Indonesia. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family. I also want to add that the cost of this private tour includes one meal, as well as local guides for Madakaripura Waterfall and Ijen Volcano, all entrance fees, and necessary equipment. There's no need to worry about anything extra, making it incredibly worthwhile! ❤️

transport options: Our driver Dosi was very friendly and made our transfer to each location very smooth. itinerary: Prepare for irregular sleeping hours as we needed to wake up at 12am to drive to the location for sunrise. But it was worth it. tour guide: Each attraction had its guide. Shout out to our waterfall guide, Edi. He went above and beyond by constantly helping us take instagrammable photos and videos even though we didn't ask. At the end of the attraction, he even helped us to compile it into a ready to post video and sent us all 100+ photos and videos. attractions: Not for the faint of heart. There were steep hikes involved and was more adventurous than we had expected. Definitely watch some YouTube vlogs to get a sense of the fitness level required. accomodation options: Fluctuating quality. One of them was amazing as it was a business hotel. The other 2 had a good outside view of nature but also had bugs (which probably can't be helped since it's near nature)

one of the best tours we’ve ever had! our guide, friesko, was super friendly and knowledgeable. he made our experience a pleasant one. easy to talk and make jokes with. would definitely find him again if we ever visit bromo again! the sunrise view point was beautiful and cold, and the hike up to the crater was fun.

He also has vast knowledge to provide great insights into the culture and provides great recommendations and places to visit in Indonesia. We were sadden by the news that forest fire closed Mt Ijen. The tour agency checked with us before changing our itinerary to the Sewu waterfalls. We enjoyed ourselves and had a great time on this trip! Hope to come back again soon to visit Ijen! Just a heads up the wet shoe rental at sewu is 30k and restrooms are available for 5k. Upgrade to single room will be at 375k.

There's a website with more info of the actual itinerary and what to prepare after booking which was useful. Car is clean and guide is friendly. Booked 4D3N so not too rush. We were able to see the sunrise at Bromo & Ijen. Ijen was not too easy to climb, certain areas are steep. Also if you want to see both blue flames and sunrise you got hike fast. We didn't had time for blue flames but managed to get a good timelapse of sunrise. Local guide at Tumpak Sewu Waterfall directs you to all the photo spots and good at taking photos. He even managed to stitch up a short video with and background music for us in such a short time.
