We booked this private tour to visit the famous Tumpak Sewu and Gua Tetes waterfall as this was the cheapest option we could find for 2 people on Klook. The timing was perfect as we had just arrived in Malang at 6:30 AM via an overnight train from Yogyakarta. The tour operator contacted us one day prior to confirm the location and pick-up time. The driver picked us up at 7 AM and drove us to Tumpak Sewu, a 2-hour journey. Upon arrival, we were assigned a local ranger guide named Roin. He was very friendly and had good photography skills. We went to the viewpoint first to see the Tumpak Sewu waterfall from above. Subsequently, Roin guided us on the trek to the waterfall and helped us take various photos and videos using both his iPhone and our phones. He even helped us carry our backpacks halfway when we were tired. Depending on the day, we were lucky because it was a weekday, and the waterfall wasn't too crowded. We were able to take pictures at various spots without much waiting. We were told that the day before, which was a Sunday, the whole place was too crowded, so it was difficult to take many photos at a particular spot. Take this into consideration when booking the trip. After the Tumpak Sewu waterfall, we then went to Gua Tetes. Gua Tetes had been closed for a long time as it was very dangerous. We were only able to view the waterfall and the cave from the exterior. The entire journey took around 4 hours, including rest time and photography time. It was very tiring and physically demanding. Roin sent us all the photos and videos he took; he even went a step further to edit a short video for us about the trip. Overall, we were very satisfied with his service. Be aware that you will get wet during the journey, especially when you go near the waterfall. Please wear appropriate clothing and waterproof footwear. You can rent water shoes in the area for around IDR 20,000 if you don't bring your own. The toilet there costs around IDR 3,000 per use, and no tissue paper is provided. The journey back to the hotel also took around 2 hours. The whole day was very tiring, but the scenery was definitely worth the effort.

Great experience and everything was planned well so there is nothing to worry about. Our drive Bobby was super friendly and we had a great chat along the way to our destination. He gave us recommendations of local delicacy to try and also explained sights such as Sumeru Volcano during our drive to the waterfall. Once arrived, the local tour guide assigned to us was Roin. Roin was amazing and ensured we were safe. He is super helpful with taking photos too! Overall highly enjoyed our trip and recommend this to anybody considering!

Participants need stamina to climb the stairs, and the trip involves quite a lot of trekking, but you will be rewarded with stunning views. The waterfall is cooling and refreshing.

A completely unexpected and amazing travel experience! The platform arranged for the driver to pick us up at the hotel on time. Although his English wasn't great, he listened carefully to our questions and tried his best to answer them. The honest and reliable driver dropped us off at the waterfall entrance and arranged for a very enthusiastic local guide to assist us. The guide explained the route, helped us look after the children, and even carried our backpacks. The best part was that he used his phone to take a large number of excellent photos and videos for us. During breaks, he even edited a beautiful video, which was absolutely stunning! This high-quality trip makes me want to strongly recommend their services to my friends!

One of the most adventurous waterfalls I've ever hiked. Not for the faint of heart, and you will get soaked. The cave was super cool too. I would do this over and over again.

Overall, I had a great experience. Our driver, Bobi, was very considerate, and the tour guide (I don't know how to spell his name, but I thought the pronunciation was similar to "Tale") was also very caring. Anyway, the view is worth the effort. Difficulty level: moderate for a girl who doesn't exercise very often, as it gets extremely slippery sometimes. The tour guide will help you take great pictures and send them to you, so you don't even need to bring your own phone. Maybe bring some alcohol wipes or other sterilizing items in case you get injured.

This experience is definitely worth the visit! The tour guide was nice and friendly and took some truly amazing photos for us.

It was a great day thanks to our driver Budi and our guide Sunari. They made our trip super comfortable and Tumpak Sewu waterfall is a must-see if you are in Malang, as it's definitely the best waterfall I've ever seen.
