Fantastic 5.0
The south wing of the hotel is a historical building. My room is a standard twin room in the main building. The size of the room is just right and it is clean and sound-proof. My room has no special view, just looking at the rooftop of the south wing and the car park nearby. The dinning room is in the top floor of the south wing. There are several performances of the antique music boxes at night in the dinning room with some oil lamps lighted. The breakfast offers some choices from Japan and western style which is enough to start a day. The location is good, close to the canal and 15 minutes walk to the glass museums. There are a few parking spaces in front of the hotel and there are more in the Times car park next door. It costs 1000 yen for 24-hour parking. But you can’t drive in and out within the 24-hours.

Great 4.0
we have a good stay at the hotel for 5 nights. the location is good as we can get on ski bus directly in the JR station next to the hotel. However, we have a bad experience on the check out date. we check out at 9am and call hotel reception at 9:30am that we forget our 5 drinks which were kept in the refrigerator, and request hotel staff to keep for us. When we come back to hotel, only 3 drinks kept, but no explanation from hotels on the missing items. we complained to the hotel on that and wish hotel to have more training to the staff! 整潔度:Good 服務:Poor 交通便利性:Good 酒店地點:Good

Fantastic 5.0
The hotel was well located and within 15 mins walking distance from the Otaru Station. It is very convenient from the hotel to walk to the Otaru Canal area as well as the shopping street Sakaimachi Street. Reception staff was polite and helpful and checking in was smooth. The twin bed room was clean and not very big but sufficient for a couple to stay comfortably. The indoor & outdoor onsen on the top floor was clean and well maintained.

Fantastic 5.0
The room was quite small, but the decor was absolutely beautiful, and I loved it! The lighting and entryway design were both stunning. The complimentary ramen for a late-night snack was delicious, and the public bath was fantastic. After a relaxing soak, there were free popsicles, which made me very happy.

Fantastic 5.0
The room is small but well-designed. The hotel's proximity to a FamilyMart convenience store is very convenient. Upon check-in, the hotel parking lot was full, so we parked in the adjacent FamilyMart parking lot. The parking fees are as shown in the picture, which you can refer to. The accommodation is about a ten-minute walk from the canal and 15-20 minutes from the old street, both of which are quite convenient.

Fantastic 5.0
A wonderful first stay in Hokkaido! The location couldn’t have been better. Otaru Canal, cafés, souvenir shops and restaurants were all just a short walk away, making it easy to explore the city on foot. We parked overnight at a nearby parking lot for ¥1,000, which was reasonable. The hotel itself felt modern and very clean, and after a long day of travelling, the rooftop onsen was the perfect place to relax. Overall, it’s a fantastic base for exploring Otaru, especially if it’s your first visit.

Great 4.0
It's non-smoking, with only one smoking room located in the basement. The lobby is clean and comfortable, and the rooms are tidy and neat. The environment is quiet and peaceful. There's one shop and one restaurant available, and breakfast costs extra. Parking is ample.

What to know before visiting Otaru

Why travellers visit Otaru and what to expect

Otaru’s Klook bookings are driven by tours, observation decks and outdoor activities, with museums and cultural experiences also in demand. Visitor traffic peaks in the winter months and falls to a low in October, so the city’s rhythm ranges from busy winter weekends to much quieter autumn stretches.

Best months to go and how prices move

According to Klook booking data, January is the peak month while October sees the lightest demand. Prices on Klook tend to rise toward winter: they’re typically highest around January and drift down through late summer, with August typically the cheapest month on Klook. If demand and prices align, expect the winter peak to bring both heavier crowds and higher activity prices, while August and October offer smaller crowds and lower prices.

Tips for travellers from the United States

Most travellers from the United States typically book about 12 days ahead, so plan and lock in popular tours and outdoor activities if you’re traveling in the peak winter months. For shorter trips, you can still book last-minute options (as late as a day before) for many experiences; either way, use Klook to reserve observation-deck visits and guided tours in advance to secure preferred times.
