The two-hour cruise in Milford Sound really depends on luck. Before setting off, I was actually a bit apprehensive, as this area is famous for its rain, with over 200 rainy days a year. Encountering clear weather is certainly not a given. As the boat slowly pulled away from the dock, seeing the sun pierce through the clouds, and the blue sky and mountains appear simultaneously, I couldn't help but silently say to myself: "Thank you, heavens, for this blessing." The entire journey lasted about two hours, but every minute felt like watching a live nature documentary. The deep blue and emerald green waters shimmered in the sunlight; towering cliffs on both sides plunged directly into the sea, with layers of mountains stretching into the distance. As the boat slowly approached the waterfalls, the mist dispersed in the sunlight, as if scattering a fine glow. That kind of awe was not just about grandeur, but a feeling of smallness and reverence at being surrounded by nature. The most iconic peaks appeared exceptionally three-dimensional against the blue sky, with clouds flowing around the mountainsides, creating a scene so beautiful it felt almost unreal. The New Zealand flag fluttered at the stern, and the waves on the sea contrasted with the distant mountain scenery. In that moment, one truly quiets down to fully appreciate the power of this land. Many say that Milford Sound has more and more spectacular waterfalls on rainy days; however, being able to see such a clear view and distinct mountain lines in good weather is equally rare. This trip made me deeply realize that visiting Milford Sound truly requires a bit of luck. And when good weather appears, that feeling of感動 is magnified infinitely. The two-hour journey ended quickly, but that blue sky, that waterfall, that mountain peak will remain in my memory for a long time. Thanks to the weather for giving us a perfect window, making this fjord trip the purest and most stunning scene of the entire journey.

Amazing tour. Ian was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and entertaining throughout the whole drive to the ferry. A must do if you're travelling to Milford Sound. The captain of the ferry was also very entertaining, thank you RealNZ team for such an amazing experience. Highly recommend this tour and will be booking future experiences with RealNZ.

A wonderful experience, glad we followed a day tour instead of self drive so we could admire the view better, be relaxed and learn more about each of the pit stops (eg. monkey creek). Loved the cruise ride had great weather and views! the food on the cruise was good too! We went for the last tour which set off at 8am from Crowne Plaza and boarded the last cruise out at 2.30pm. It’ll be good to have some light snacks else lunch will be served quite late. We had the falafel (vegan) wrap which was served cold and still yummy while the chicken pie was served warm! both options were yummy!

We had such an amazing experience on our Milford Sound tour thanks to Benny. From the start, he created a fun, relaxed atmosphere and kept everyone entertained with his great sense of humour. He was incredibly friendly, accommodating and made sure we were all comfortable throughout the journey. We felt very safe the entire time thanks to his calm and professional driving, which allowed us to truly relax and enjoy the stunning scenery. One of the best parts of the tour was that we stopped at all the key scenic points and even some hidden gems. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to take beautiful photos and create content along the way. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Milford Sound. We went to the meeting point because we had a six-year-old child. The counter staff said that children must have a car seat. Coincidentally, we had rented a car and a car seat, so we asked the counter staff. She said it was fine to use it, otherwise, we might not have been able to get on the bus. This place is amazing; if you go to New Zealand, you must visit.

Upon arriving at the reception desk, after confirming your booking information, the staff will provide you with boat tickets. Keep these safe. Then, follow the staff's instructions to go outside and verify your booking name with the driver before boarding the vehicle. Once all guests have been picked up, the driver will explain the day's itinerary and provide commentary periodically. Along the way, there will be stops at several locations for photo opportunities. You will also have some time in Te Anau for restroom breaks, food, or rest. Upon reaching the boarding point, present your boat tickets to the staff, and you can then board the boat. The captain will also provide commentary throughout the journey. Complimentary coffee, hot tea, and hot water are available on board for self-service. If you wish to purchase other hot food or drinks, they are also available on the boat. Milford Sound experiences a fair amount of rain, and when passing by several large waterfalls, the boat will get very close. If you are on the deck, you are likely to get splashed. It is recommended to bring a raincoat or wear a windproof and waterproof jacket. The fjord landscape is unique and not seen in many places, and the scenery along the way is also beautiful. It is definitely worth visiting, and I sincerely recommend that anyone traveling to the South Island come and experience it.
