Since it was my first time in Osaka, I didn't do any preparation and got a little lost trying to find my way. I had some trouble finding my ticket because I brought a paper one instead of using a QR code. I scanned the QR code at the ticket machine, issued the ticket, selected my seats, and received two physical tickets. There's also a counter right next to it where you can get an Icoca card, so minors or those without Apple Pay can handle both at once. They'll issue an Icoca card for 2000 yen.

We used the Kansai Area Pass (3-Day) for our trip, and it was incredibly convenient and offered amazing value for money! The redemption process was super easy—we just took our e-voucher to the JR West ticket machines in front of Kyoto Station, scanned our passports, and the machine printed our main pass along with vouchers to exchange for Kyoto Subway and 2 other private railway day passes (which are awesome free bonuses included with this pass!). We fully utilized this pass over the 3 days with a fantastic itinerary: Day 1: Traveled around the beautiful Lake Biwa area. Day 2: Explored Kyoto using the complimentary private railway/subway passes, then took a limited express train to Shin-Osaka where we stayed. Day 3: Traveled out to Rokkomichi Station in Kobe to ride the Rokko Cable and enjoy the stunning night view of Kobe Bay (note: the cable car ticket itself is purchased separately). Finally, we used the pass to reserve seats on the Haruka to Kansai International Airport.

This pass is ideal for traveling to Nara, offering free train and bus travel within the city. (1) This online pass should be activated on the day of travel and can be used starting from Namba Station, where you can find the Kintetsu Line. (2) To activate, click on the voucher and select "start using." (3) Check the train schedule and choose a Limited Express train bound for Kintetsu-Nara. This pass does not include advance seat reservations. (4) Upon arrival at the destination station, exit via the East Exit and walk along Noborioji-cho Road towards Nara Park, or take the Nara Kotsu bus from in front of the station to the Todaiji Daibutsuden/Kasugataisha-mae stop. - I personally walked to see the deer park and Todaiji Temple on the way there, and took the bus back to the station. (5) You can visit Todaiji Temple (Great Buddha), but there is an entrance fee for the temple interior. (6) This pass can also be used to ride the Cable Car to enjoy the atmosphere at the mountaintop amusement park. From Nara Station, take the train back to Ikoma Station. Upon exiting the station, turn left and you will see the Cable Car sign. Once there, you will see a "Welcome" sign. You can show the QR code to the staff and take two cable car rides. Unfortunately, this pass cannot be used for the amusement park rides, but it is still considered good value.

The Kansai–Hiroshima Pass is definitely worth it. It includes the sightseeing bus that lets you hop on and off at Hiroshima's major attractions, which saved me both time and money while exploring the city. I do feel that one day isn't enough to fully experience Hiroshima, as there are many more places worth visiting. The pass also offers excellent value because it can be used on JR lines to travel to other destinations within its coverage

This helped me a lot to go to all the places I've been to in the Kansai area. Since I am new to how the train system works in Japan, I tend to get lost, and with this pass, I never have to worry about spending extra for transportation if I end up in the wrong station, as this is unlimited.

1. Please confirm the applicable scope of the pass. Some attractions, such as the Miyajima ferry, require an additional tax. 2. If you have enough stamina, this is definitely an excellent choice for a San'in-Sanyo trip, as you can reserve seats an unlimited number of times (the machine can only reserve same-day seats and only 6 times). Therefore, it is recommended to plan your travel itinerary and have the service center staff help you book all transportation after the current day, which will save a lot of time. 3. It is recommended to learn how to take local buses, as transportation in some Sanyo areas is not well-developed and requires combining luggage storage and buses. 4. If you have large luggage, be sure to store it or drop it off at your hotel first to avoid being refused boarding or delaying others. 5. Stamina is key to making the most of this pass. We bought the 7-day rail pass for the Kansai-Hokuriku area. When we arrived at Kansai Airport, we used this pass to take a train from Osaka Airport to Fukui. Of course, you have to change trains a few times, but it was manageable for us even though we had three large pieces of luggage. We also took the Shinkansen from Fukui to Toyama and from Shin-Osaka to Okayama. If you travel a lot within these 7 days, this pass is for you. However, if it's only for one trip, it's not worth it.

This was the fastest way for me to get to Osaka. There were staff making sure that you boarded the correct train. Seat reservations are required, but they are very easy to purchase.

I exchanged the physical voucher at Okayama Station, which was very convenient. Since there's no limit to the number of reserved seat bookings with this voucher, I almost always took reserved seats. Okayama - Yonago - Sakaiminato - Izumo - Tottori - Kobe. Highly recommended.
