Yilan Water activities

Compared to Taipei, it's really great for shrimp fishing, and the instruction is very detailed. Even first-timers can get the hang of it, making it a great stop for family travel. One rod costs $350 NTD for one hour and 10 minutes. If you don't catch at least half a jin (300g) within that time, they will supplement it to half a jin. If you catch more than half a jin, they will weigh and calculate the price accordingly (half a jin is about 7 shrimp). During the time period, most people can catch an average of about 13-16 shrimp. The shrimp are quite large and very active. You can redeem a shrimp cracker for a photo of you catching two shrimp at once.

The crew worked hard chasing dolphins, but unfortunately, the dolphins kept heading out to sea and diving, so we only caught a fleeting glimpse for about 0.3 seconds. Most of the passengers on board got seasick due to the rough waves that afternoon. The circumnavigation and landing on Guishan Island were still quite enjoyable, with opportunities to explore and take photos.

A very leisurely and relaxing experience, you can appreciate the beautiful scenery of Yilan from angles you don't normally see, but unexpectedly tiring 🤣. I went back and found blisters on my hands, I wonder if I can bring my own gloves. The instructor is super helpful with taking pictures!

If you can experience it on a weekday, you'll have a great experience because you won't have to queue or be surrounded by crowds. The instructors are patient in their explanations, and you basically won't get wet. The rear seats are adjustable. The Ecological Oasis tickets are 30/person, and parking is 50/vehicle, which are not included in the experience price. They have bicycles and electric boats, plus sea turtle popsicles. The mango flavor is delicious!

This is a highly recommended attraction in Yilan! The fishing and shrimp scooping experience at Dawen Leisure Farm is incredibly fun and suitable for all ages. The environment at Qingqin Yueduo is also very comfortable, making it perfect for a relaxing yet fulfilling half-day family outing!

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience! My 1st time surfing, and alone as a solo traveller, but the instructor was super clear in his instructions and I was able to slowly pick up trying to stand on the board. The weather conditions were not the best for surfing on this day (raining), but the instructor carefully looked out for us. They offer free shuttle pick ups at 9am/1pm from Toucheng station, you can LINE them if you're a foreigner without phone number. They also rent out wetsuits for free. The lady also kindly offered to order a bento for lunch right after. The photos taken were super nice as well. I suggest booking a half day surf if you're not super athletic and try it out first. Will be back again if I have the chance to!

The coach was very dedicated and responsible, taking great care of my 13-year-old son during his first snorkeling experience. This ensured both my son and I felt safe and had a wonderful time. They also took many beautiful photos and videos for us! 👍

A very special experience! The lead coach was incredibly dedicated and responsible. Paddling alone was completely fine (though my stamina couldn't quite keep up). Even though the waves were a bit choppy today, I persevered, and the ocean was just beautiful. So happy!!!
