We had a great experience making our chopsticks. The only point with fewer stars is the price. Our booking included one type of wood. If you want one of the other four, you have to pay extra: two pieces for 2000 Yen each, and two more for 4000 Yen each. We found that quite expensive. Otherwise: super nice staff who are very happy to help. Thanks for the great souvenir.

We absolutely loved it! We went as a family, and it was so engaging and fun! The kids were thrilled, and my husband and I were too! I'd like to give a special shout-out to the wonderful female hosts; they were fantastic, pleasant, and had a great sense of humor! Thank you and good luck!

This was a very pleasant experience. The Sushi Master was very good at explaining each step to us and no matter how many questions we asked her, she always responded cordially. This is something worth repeating. My sushi also turned out pretty decent. Our Sushi Master - Raike is superb and fabulous! 🙂

Fun low stress unquiet activity! this was a well rounded accessible approach to dessert making and the instructor was very sweet. He did a great job trying to communicate with the two english parties present and made plenty of jokes when we made inevitable mistakes. Over all good laugh in a good area.

Fantastic 5.0
On our last day in Osaka, we went to a sushi-making experience! :) I wanted to give my child a special experience, so I booked it long before we even arrived in Japan. Honestly, I was a bit tired from expending so much energy at USJ the day before, and I wondered if I had made a mistake booking an activity that required more effort. But in the end, I think it was a really great decision! 😆 My child said it was the most fun part of our trip to Japan (USJ was second, by the way 🤣), and they absolutely loved it. I think cultural experiences during childhood travels abroad have a positive impact on understanding and developing an interest in that country. On the way out, my child asked me various questions about things they heard during the program, like the Edo period. The young owners conducted the experience in English and were very kind, and I liked the casual atmosphere. :) The shop was also bright and clean. And even though my child usually only likes egg sushi and doesn't eat much fish, they ate a lot of it after making it themselves. I thought an hour and a half would be long, but after making and eating all the sushi, the time flew by incredibly fast. It's a great place to visit with family, partners, or friends. :) If you want to create some wonderful memories during your trip to Japan, I highly recommend the sushi-making experience!

We had a PHENOMENAL time!! Naho was an AMAZING instructor, who provided a nice agenda for our class which included a drink, a history lesson and prepared 3 different styles of sushi. We were fortunate to have our own "private" class as there were no other reservations booked during pur slot, which made the experience even more enjoyable!! The class is easy to find and in the heart of Shinsaibashi (Dotonbori) area. I recommend this to anyone going to Osaka, you wont regret it!!!

What to know before visiting Osaka

What to do in Osaka throughout the year

Osaka is best known for Theme parks, Attraction passes and Observation decks, with Historical sites and Museums rounding out popular choices. Klook booking data shows visitor demand rising and falling across the year: demand peaks in November and December, while late summer (August) is the quietest. That rhythm means travellers can choose between lively peak-season experiences and calmer months for sightseeing. Decide whether you want festival-like crowds or a quieter trip — Klook booking data helps you time which months suit your style.

Best months to visit and price trends

Demand hits its high in November and December, while August is noticeably quiet; prices move differently, with the priciest month in August and the lowest prices in November, so crowds and prices sometimes diverge. For lower prices and smaller crowds, plan for November; if you want peak-season atmosphere expect busier conditions in November and December and higher advance demand. Klook booking data shows prices drifting down after the summer peak and the median paid on Klook reflects that.

October About average MYR 187

Demand is bookings in that month compared with a typical month, from historical Klook booking data, grouped into the demand levels above; typical price is the median paid on Klook in that month; prices are shown with their currency code. Based on Klook booking data, July 2025 – June 2026.

Where to stay by typical nightly price

Klook booking data shows a clear price spread between districts. Nishi is the most affordable district with a typical nightly rate around MYR 243, while Kita is the priciest at about MYR 633, a gap of roughly 62%. Budget-conscious travellers tend to prefer the more affordable end for straightforward stays and value; those who favour hotels with extra amenities or a premium feel will gravitate toward pricier districts. Choose between value or comfort depending on the type of stay you want, as indicated by Klook booking data.

Tips for travellers from Malaysia

Most travellers from Malaysia typically book experiences around 12 days ahead, while the earliest planners secure bookings about 31 days out, according to Klook booking data. That means you have reasonable flexibility to book within a couple of weeks, but during the peak months (November and December) it pays to plan earlier. Use Klook to compare typical prices and lock in activities when you see a timing and price that suit you — booking a little early in peak season can avoid missing popular time slots.
