The JR Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass is truly worth it. You can use it to ride the Haruka express train and the Shinkansen with reserved seats from the airport all the way to Hiroshima. You can ride as many times as you want, making it incredibly cost-effective. If you calculate the prices, it far exceeds the cost of the pass. I highly recommend this pass if you plan to travel along this route; you'll definitely get your money's worth.
This is probably the best value for money deal I’ve ever gotten from Klook! The JR Kansai-Hiroshima pass is so so useful for anyone planning trips to multiple places within this part of Japan. This pass essentially paid for itself when we headed over to Hiroshima for a day trip; it was so worth it!
The JR Kansai–Hiroshima Area Pass was an absolute gem and one of the best travel purchases I made. It covered my trips from Osaka to Onomichi and Hiroshima, and made more complex journeys (like visiting Naoshima with multiple transfers) much easier and more affordable (note: ferry to Naoshima is not included). Exchanging the voucher on arrival was simple, and I appreciated being able to choose a later activation date since I only started using it a week after arriving in Japan. Everything worked perfectly throughout. What I valued most was the flexibility. It was great not having to worry about buying individual tickets, missing trains, or arriving at the station at a specific time. I could just show up and adjust plans freely, which made travelling much more relaxed. The pass also covered the Miyajima ferry (I used the streetcar separately to reach the port but you can use JR train and it will be covered). Overall, it made exploring the region effortless and stress-free.
The JR Pass is excellent value! We only waited about 5 minutes in line at the Kansai Airport counter, and the staff immediately helped us reserve seats on the Haruka train. From queuing to boarding, it took just 15 minutes in total. It's fantastic to have unlimited rides on the Hello Kitty Shinkansen and trips to Hiroshima included. For a 5-day pass focused on the Kansai area, it offers extremely high value. The only downside is that it doesn't cover Nozomi or Mizuho Shinkansen services between Kyoto and Osaka/Shin-Osaka. However, the Thunderbird limited express train that operates on the same route is also very comfortable and pleasant."
pass area coverage: the pass was very convenient and allowed me to travel easily to different places in the Kansai area via the JR lines including ferry to Miyajima. Making seat reservations at the office was also hassle free.
It's super easy to use today; just use the card and you can redeem it at the automatic machine. Just show the QR code and scan your passport, then select the start date. It's very convenient now and worth it. Just traveling to Hiroshima alone makes it worth it, especially riding the Shinkansen.
It doesn't get any better or easier. Redeemed it directly after arriving at Kansai Airport (counter or office) and off we went. Took the Haruka Express to Shin Osaka, then immediately the Super Nozomi Shinkansen to Hiroshima. Quick tip... you can also use the pass for the sightseeing bus. Otherwise, always ask locally which buses accept the pass.
Very useful pass, used it to go Amanohashidate, Takamatsu, Okayama and Kurashiki, took the Meipuru-pu buses around Hiroshima to Peace Park etc, took the Hello Kitty shinkansen as well as taking the ferry to and fro Miyajima island!
We made Kyoto our base and had outings to Hiroshima twice, Amanohashidate, and Onomichi plus several times to Shin-Osaka using the Haruka from Kyoto and vice versa. It was a money saver if you used JR trains often, like us.
100% worth it!!! went to hiroshima, miyajima, himeji castle, and of course kyoto. this pass covers all of these places and riding the shinkansen itself is already a whole lot of fun! my favorite is himeji. it's so beautiful 🥹
