Chengdu Multi-day tours

We are a group of five senior friends who traveled to Chengdu and Chongqing. I brought my parents here. Traveling by high-speed rail is much less strenuous for seniors! In the past, it took a whole day just to get to Jiuzhaigou, but now we can leave Chengdu in the morning and arrive at the scenic area by noon. At Huanglong Scenic Area, we took the ropeway up the mountain (80 yuan/person for the ascent) and then slowly walked down to see the Five-Color Ponds. Four hours was plenty of time for the visit. On the second day, the sightseeing bus in Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area went directly to the core attractions, covering Shuzheng Valley, Rize Valley, and Zechawa Valley. We walked about seven to eight thousand steps daily, and my parents weren't tired. Jiuzhaigou in July is lush green, the waterfalls are spectacularly full, and the air is fresh with the scent of plants and streams. Staying two nights at a hotel at the gully entrance meant we didn't have to move our luggage, which was very convenient. My parents enjoyed the Tibetan dinner and even watched a Guozhuang dance. The tour guide didn't enter the scenic area with us, but they explained all the important tips for visiting beforehand, which made the trip quite hassle-free.

Was looking for a fuss free and worry free 2D1N tour to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong scenic area and picked this package on Klook. We were given clear instructions on when and where to meet, and were met at the Train station by our guide- 阿朵. She was energetic, really knowledgeable and friendly, her tips on which viewpoints to make time for and which are optional really helped make my experience great. We had sufficient time for all the stops, it did not feel rushed. For context, 我是来体验的，不是来打卡的。Both scenic areas were really gorgeous, do take the time to just admire. And as promised by our guide 阿朵，this tour had no forced shopping. Tip: take the cable car up to the Huanglong scenic area. it makes the visit much easier especially for older folks/people who are less mobile.

Definitely worth the trip as we had more time at both attractions. View was very beautiful but Bipenggou requires more walking conpare to Siguniang which have big buses pickup/drop off from point to point.

My biggest concern was altitude sickness, but the entire trip went well, and I didn't feel anything. This might be because we had oxygen tanks, and for higher altitudes, the travel agency arranged oxygen rooms, which was a really great touch! Itinerary: On the day we explored Daocheng Yading, it's essential to bring an oxygen tank. You'll definitely feel a difference in your heart and lungs, and the climb can still be a bit challenging; however, I thought the scenery was decent. The night sky was truly beautiful, and you could see the stars clearly with the naked eye, no telescope needed. Personally, I prefer Mount Siguniang over Daocheng Yading; the scenery at Mount Siguniang is lusher and more diverse! Driver: The driver was excellent, drove steadily, and had a mild temperament. He was punctual every day and shared interesting local customs and stories with us along the way.

My friends and I took this route on August 7th, and the entire experience was fantastic. First, let's talk about the pace of the trip. On the first day, we gradually ascended from Chengdu to Mount Siguniang, and I didn't experience any discomfort. Shuangqiao Valley is truly beautiful, with snow-capped mountains reflecting in the lake. The sightseeing bus meant we didn't have to walk much, which was great for our energy levels. On the second day, the prayer flag ceremony at the Yala Snow Mountain observation deck was very ceremonial. Drinking coffee in Gulong Village with the snow-capped mountains as a backdrop created an incredible atmosphere. In the evening at Yuzi West, we were incredibly lucky to see the 'Golden Mountain bathed in sunlight.' The wind was strong at that moment, but everyone held up their phones, unwilling to put them down. On the third day, we enjoyed horseback riding and nomadic experiences on Tagong Grassland. Our driver and guide accompanied us throughout, taking photos without rushing us at all. Three days in heaven for my eyes, and hell for my body? Not at all! The altitude progression was quite scientific, and even though I don't exercise much, I felt fine. The small group made for a comfortable ride, and it was a bonus that no one was seated in the middle of the back row.

I highly recommend this itinerary! After comparing several 3-day Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong tours, this one had the most detailed description. The high-speed train schedule was perfect, no early mornings or late returns. After experiencing it firsthand, I found that the actual trip perfectly matched the itinerary description. A special thanks to our guide, Xiao Ma, for their professional explanations and thoughtful service. The hotel's location was excellent, right next to the evening show venue, making it very convenient to attend performances. The pace on the first day was relaxed. I strongly recommend purchasing the uphill cable car ticket; it saves a lot of energy when exploring Huanglong. As for the dining, tastes vary, but overall it was quite good.

This was our first time taking a group tour in China as foreigners. Despite some language barriers, we had a wonderful trip thanks to the kindness of our guide and driver. The scenery was also incredibly beautiful. The only downside was that due to long travel times, meal times often didn't align with typical lunch or dinner hours, leading to inconveniences like eating very late dinners, sometimes around 10 PM. Next time, if the schedule causes meal times to be significantly delayed, it would be great if there was more flexibility to arrange a nearby restaurant in between. Thanks to our cheerful driver, we were able to enjoy the long-distance journey to the end.
