3-Day Tour of Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong in Sichuan by High-Speed Rail

I brought my parents here. Traveling by high-speed rail is much less strenuous for seniors! In the past, it took a whole day just to get to Jiuzhaigou, but now we can leave Chengdu in the morning and arrive at the scenic area by noon. At Huanglong Scenic Area, we took the ropeway up the mountain (80 yuan/person for the ascent) and then slowly walked down to see the Five-Color Ponds. Four hours was plenty of time for the visit. On the second day, the sightseeing bus in Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area went directly to the core attractions, covering Shuzheng Valley, Rize Valley, and Zechawa Valley. We walked about seven to eight thousand steps daily, and my parents weren't tired. Jiuzhaigou in July is lush green, the waterfalls are spectacularly full, and the air is fresh with the scent of plants and streams. Staying two nights at a hotel at the gully entrance meant we didn't have to move our luggage, which was very convenient. My parents enjoyed the Tibetan dinner and even watched a Guozhuang dance. The tour guide didn't enter the scenic area with us, but they explained all the important tips for visiting beforehand, which made the trip quite hassle-free.

We booked this trip for five people: myself, my two children, and my mother-in-law. High-speed rail is truly a blessing for families with kids, as it saves the elderly from long, tiring bus rides. On the first afternoon, we visited Huanglong. Our guide specifically advised us to take the ropeway up the mountain and then walk down, which saved a lot of effort. In June, all the travertine pools in Huanglong were full, with colors layering from light green to deep blue. My mother-in-law kept saying she had never seen such beautiful water. On the second day, we spent the entire day in Jiuzhaigou, exploring both Rize Valley and Zechawa Valley. Every spot, from Five Flower Lake to Mirror Lake and Long Lake, was breathtakingly beautiful. The hotel we stayed at was very close to the scenic area and had plenty of hot water. The group meals offered both Sichuan cuisine and milder options, which suited the children. On the last day, we spent half an hour strolling through Minjiang Wetland Park, where the grass was green and flowers were blooming—a pleasant little bonus.

My daughter and I spent three wonderful days in Jiuzhaigou, and we were so lucky to have such a great tour guide as Ali! She was incredibly professional throughout the trip, explaining the attractions, history, and local culture of Jiuzhaigou in a very vivid way. She was also very patient and enthusiastic. The entire itinerary was well-paced and comfortable, never feeling rushed. She thoughtfully reminded us to take photos and to be mindful of the weather and altitude sickness. As a parent traveling with a child, this sense of security was truly important. Jiuzhaigou itself is like a fairy tale, breathtakingly beautiful, but with her companionship and care, this trip became even more unforgettable. My daughter had a fantastic time, and we learned so much about the local culture and knowledge. Thank you so much for taking care of us these past few days! Klook coordinator was proactive to confirm the train tickets with us and gave assuring replies which is good. the local guide was easy to find and responded quickly on WeChat. we were well taken care of with advice on AMS. most meals were provided and were delicious too. it was only the last lunch where they brought us to purchase some health products which they were a bit more aggressive. overall, we enjoyed the trip, hotel, food and places of interest.

everything ok and good, what i like is this tour is pure tour, no shopping or expect us to buy anything. in this trip, i was surpirsed with the very luxurious hotel i got (stegenberger or something). the group also welcome with a moslem tourist like me, everyone in the group was so good. when i refuse to eat dinner (because its not halal), the tour refunded me.

For my first trip to Western Sichuan, I chose this highly-rated three-day Jiuzhai Valley tour, and it definitely didn't disappoint! The Dujiangyan Scenic Area on the first day was truly impressive. It's amazing that an engineering project from over two thousand years ago is still functioning today. I can't help but admire the wisdom and diligence of the ancients. The atmosphere of Songpan Ancient City is great. It hasn't been over-commercialized and retains a lot of its original charm. Strolling through the ancient city, you can feel a strong sense of historical and cultural atmosphere. The Tibetan-style hot pot in the evening was delicious, with great-tasting yak meat and Tibetan pork, as well as a variety of local wild vegetables that were both nutritious and tasty. Jiuzhai Valley on the second day was the highlight of the entire trip. The colors of the lakes were truly magical, like sapphires and green jade. Walking on the boardwalk, I could hear the sound of the flowing water and breathe in the fresh air, which made me feel completely relaxed. The travel photography service was also very thoughtful. The photographer adjusted the shooting style according to my preferences, and I really liked the photos that were taken. Although Huanglong Scenic Area on the third day was a bit high in altitude, it was no problem to climb it slowly. The beauty of the Five-Color Ponds was stunning. The butter tea and highland barley cake for afternoon tea were very unique. The tour guide was very professional, with detailed explanations, and the driver's driving skills were excellent. The accommodation was also very comfortable. This trip was really perfect!

My parents strolled slowly through the ancient city and bought some local souvenirs. The Tibetan-style hot pot in the evening had generous portions and fresh ingredients, and my parents enjoyed it very much. The second day at Jiuzhaigou was so beautiful it's hard to describe. The lake water was crystal clear, reflecting the blue sky, white clouds, and green mountains. Walking on the boardwalk felt like being in a fairyland. The photographer for the travel photos was great at capturing moments and took many heartwarming group photos of my parents, who kept saying how well they were taken. On the third day, although we had to climb some stairs at the Huanglong scenic area, the scenery along the way was also beautiful. The colors of the Five-Color Pond truly lived up to their name. My parents really liked the butter tea for afternoon tea, saying the taste was very unique. Throughout the trip, the tour guide provided attentive service, the driver drove smoothly, and the accommodation was also very good – clean, tidy, and fully equipped. I would definitely choose this route again next time!

In three days, I visited all the core attractions, the pace wasn't rushed, and there was plenty of time to take photos and check in. The lakes of Jiuzhaigou are so beautiful that words can't describe them. The reflections in Mirror Lake are as clear as a copy and paste, and Five Flower Lake is full of vibrant colors. Although Huanglong requires some climbing, seeing that "fairyland on earth" instantly made it worth it. The night view of Songpan Ancient City is super beautiful, with red lanterns hanging all over the streets and alleys, making it perfect for a stroll. The travel photography was a pleasant surprise. The clothes were clean and beautiful, and the photographer was good at guiding, so you don't have to be afraid of feeling awkward. The finished photos were much better than expected. The hot pot and afternoon tea were also a plus, with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. The tour guide provided detailed explanations and attentive service throughout the entire trip. It was definitely an unforgettable trip!

This three-day trip to Jiuzhai Valley was absolutely divine! The itinerary was so well-planned. The lakes in Jiuzhai Valley were as blue as sapphires, and walking on the boardwalk felt like entering a fairyland. The calcified pools of Huanglong were layered upon layered, shimmering in the sunlight, requiring absolutely no filter. The Dujiangyan irrigation system was so impressive it left me speechless. The bluestone paved streets of Songpan Ancient City were full of life. The hot pot in the evening was so warming, and the yak meat was tender, fresh, and flavorful. The yak butter tea and tsampa desserts of the afternoon tea were perfectly delightful. The travel photography team was super professional. The photographer knew the best angles, and every photo taken could be used as wallpaper. There was no forced spending throughout the trip, and the value for money was incredible. I've already recommended it to all my friends who want to go to Sichuan!

The most commendable aspect of this trip was definitely our tour guide, Wu Bin (Dorje)! His explanations were lively, engaging, and he was incredibly attentive, filling the entire journey with laughter and warmth. The overall itinerary was well-arranged, but due to the peak tourist season, we arrived at Huanglong in the late afternoon. The lighting wasn't ideal, so the scenery wasn't at its most captivating. However, during the Jiuzhaigou portion of the trip, our guide thoughtfully provided his own detailed explanations and suggested routes, making our visit very smooth, fulfilling, and enjoyable. Overall, this was a truly unforgettable trip – excellent guide, magnificent scenery, just a bit crowded due to the large number of tourists.
