Sichuan Opera House - Shufeng Yayun Ticket

Amazing experience as I booked a VIP ticket really early (a few months prior to my trip) and was therefore sat right on the first row not even two meters away from the actors. The performances were all great, you'd better speak some Chinese/have knowledge about Chinese culture to really get everything, but even without that, I imagine that first-timers can enjoy the show as much. Turns out the mask-changing performance was not my favorite out of all the ones we saw, as I discovered many new kinds of classic Sichuan opera performances I didn't know about. This was a lovely way to spend an evening in Chengdu, I would visit again on my next trip.

An eye opener into Chinese Sichuan traditional opera show. There are Chinese opera, comedy show, erhu & di performance, puppet show, hand puppet show and face changing performance. Very entertaining.

It is worth it to go experience Chinese Opera, even if you don't understand the language. All performers were talented and the costumes were beautiful. I especially enjoyed the face changing mask performance, which they saved until last. There is a souvenir shop if you want to buy something. Also, you can spend some time before or after the show to take photos in the garden area at the venue.

it was an excellent show and a feast of snacks that made us feel like royalty and unlimited tea and nuts. I highly recommend!

This was a very interesting experience, I highly recommend visiting; it's very atmospheric. It's best to arrive at least 30 minutes early because tickets are not assigned seats, but rather by category, and staff will seat you (they are quick and coordinated). Each seat comes with a small table, tea, and sunflower seeds. We chose the ticket category with extras, which includes a choice of food (a lot of it 😊), fruit, and a theatrical costume for photos (highly recommended).

visited on 8 June 2025. Paid about 38 SGD for the seats in front of the stage and came with tea (refillable) and some sunflower seeds to munch on. The show was quite entertaining if you like traditional operas, puppet shows, 二胡 and 唢呐 performances. The star of the show was the 变脸。

An enjoyable experience which showcases a range of extraordinary talents without having to understand Mandarin. I was confused about the different pricing within each class of ticket offered by Klook and ended up buying the cheapest SVIP ticket available. Buying it only the day before the performance meant we were at the back of the SVIP section because this is a popular show but we still had a good view. Exchanging for a ticket using the self service machine wasn't possible for me with a foreign mobile number but ticketing staff were on hand to process manually. The SVIP ticket does come with the option of a souvenir, massage or ear cleaning so arrive in time to have that before (or even during!) the performance.

come earlier. the street where the opera is located is interesting. there is a nice park at the end of the road. the show consist of various types of Chinese sketches w face changing being the last. we took a train there and it was a short walk to the show. getting our tickets was easy from the booth just behind the ticket booth.

This is a very unique performance, and the ticket price also includes a massage or ear cleaning, as well as a special small bag. It's a very meaningful cultural experience. After the show, I recommend taking a stroll in the nearby cultural park.

Shu Feng Ya Yun is a feast of audio-visual enjoyment, integrating Chinese cultural heritage and showing local cultural characteristics. The introduction in English is even more considerate. The whole performance is exciting and worth watching again.
