Fantastic 5.0
Great, affordable way to visit many temples in the one day. You can depart from kyoto or osaka and on the tour, you'll receive information from a guide on the bus overviews where you're going next, but then you're free to explore. Perfect way to see the main sites without having to so many trains all over the city. The guide kindly provided the option to eat at a restaurant as a group and most meals were 2000 yen each, or more for fancier options like beef. This worked well as we paid him on the bus & the food was delicious, pre - ordered and brought out on our arrival, saving time to focus on touring the temples. Very efficient & so much food I didnt eat it all. Highly recommend this tour.

I’m an American mom traveling with my 16 & 13 year old sons and we had 48 hours in Kyoto and needed to make the most of our limited time. Teri was an amazing guide, friendly, funny and informative. The mix of stops and duration was perfect for teens and my husband. We met other English speaking travelers from around the globe too. I have traveled all over the globe and I don’t usually book tours, but I’m so glad I booked this for Kyoto, it kept us on track, and ending at the Monkey park was a perfect end to the day. The meeting point was easy to find and the pace was perfect! Highly recommend!

💜A wonderful trip with Guide Seo Geum-bong💜 I was surprised that it was my first time having a guide with such experience! He's amazing!! Even though there weren't many Koreans, he did a great job explaining the destinations and overall Japanese culture, which I really appreciated. The stories I learned for the first time were so valuable! There was also a solo traveler, and he took good care of them too. He even took some great photos for us!!! It was a very enjoyable trip. Thank you!! I hope to see you again next time!!🥰

Tips Before Visiting Kyoto City

1. Plan Your Trip Around the Seasons

Kyoto changes with every season. Spring brings cherry blossoms, while autumn paints the city in red and gold. These are popular times, so book your hotel early. Winter is quiet and peaceful, while summer is lively with festivals.

2. Be Respectful of Geisha (Geiko)

In the famous geisha district, you may see geiko or maiko (apprentice geisha) walking to appointments. They are not tourist attractions, so please don’t follow or stop them for photos. For a respectful look into geisha culture, join a guided tour or attend a performance.

3. Walk Whenever You Can

Kyoto is one of the best cities in Japan to explore on foot. Walking lets you find hidden gems, like tiny tea shops, small Zen temples, or cozy local restaurants. For longer trips, get a Kyoto City Bus & Subway Pass to save money and easily reach popular spots.
