Kintetsu 5 days Pass was totally worth it as I was shifting places from Osaka to Kyoto to Nara then Osaka, this pass covered unlimited train ride gave me a wonderful experiences in Japan especially during spring season. I was abit worried coz of digital pass which is QR code (can’t keep screenshot to enter, QR will reload after 5 minutes) but as long as you got stable internet, it would be fine. please read the instructions carefully before buying so that you will be familiar with. In my case, I didn’t use the 5 days pass right away, at first I tried to use local train by using ICOCA once I landed in Osaka then used it for 2 days then got to know the train routes then I started using on my 3rd day. recommended 🫶
I just discovered this through a good friend. The pass was so worth it for the price and number of days. Technically, I just used this for 3 days and I was able to go to Toba, Ise, Iga, and Kyoto. I maximized the perks of this pass. However, this can also be used starting in Osaka.
The convenience of electronic tickets, which don't require exchange, is great. I also purchased a Kintetsu 5-day electronic ticket a year ago. However, unfortunately, I couldn't open the ticket at the station at all, and ultimately couldn't use it and had to cancel. I used a transportation card to go to the Kintetsu Nagoya Station ticket office and bought a physical ticket. I originally wanted to buy a physical ticket this time, but unfortunately, they stopped selling them on March 31, 2025; only electronic tickets are available. Each time you use it, you have to re-enter and open the ticket to use it, but many stations that aren't major stations often don't have 5G network, only LTE. I'm very worried that I won't be able to open the ticket. Although I was able to use it this time, I still prefer physical tickets over electronic tickets; I have a bit of a phobia about using electronic tickets.
Third time buying this pass in 2 years coz it is a really good pass, this time at a 20% discount. Strange though that Klook set a deadline to review this by 25 Dec but I wont be using it til later. This trip, plan to use it for travel thru Nagoya, Yokkaichi, Yunoyamaonsen, Nagashima, Kuwana, Matsusaka, etc
this is really helpful if you are trying to save money. however, it might take too much of your time so you really need to plan well. the pass does not include the limited train so it is kinda confusing.
We were based in Nagoya and the Kintetsu Rail Pass was one of the best decisions we made for our trip. It gave us unlimited travel on Kintetsu trains and buses, which made visiting multiple destinations so easy and cost-effective. With the pass, we went to Nara, Toba Aquarium, Ise, and Nabana no Sato without worrying about buying separate tickets each time. It also covered local buses, which saved us even more. The convenience of just hopping on and off without lining up for tickets was a huge plus, and it definitely paid for itself after just a couple of trips. If you’re planning to explore areas around Nagoya, especially in Mie and Nara prefectures, this pass is a great value. We highly recommend it!
Most valued pass! I noticed that the difference is around ¥1,000 without the pass. Nara park (the deer park) just across the Kintetsu-Nara station. My trip from Osaka Namba was around an hour, took the rapid express for less stop station. The plus point is riding the cable car (tram) to Ikomasanjo amusement park. I had my lunch there enjoying the view. Make sure to have internet and phone battery to scan the train pass cause you can't screenshot the qr code.
This trip to Kansai used the 2-day Kintetsu Railway Pass purchased on KLOOK, and the overall experience was very convenient! The biggest change is that electronic QR codes are now used throughout the travel experience. There is no need to queue up to exchange for physical coupons as before, saving a lot of precious travel time. The electronic ticket is very easy to use. Just open the KLOOK APP on your mobile phone and display the QR code for the station staff to scan. It should be noted that when used at the station, the QR code scanning area is usually located on the wall next to the manual channel, not on the general automatic gate. First-time passengers should pay special attention to this. However, I must remind everyone that there was a small incident during the trip to Mount Yoshino. As Mount Yoshino is relatively remote, the roaming network I used was very unstable there, and as a result, I couldn’t even open the QR code on the APP when I wanted to take a ride! Worse still, these QR codes have a countdown, so you can’t take a screenshot beforehand to save for later use. I was a little panicked at the time, but luckily I was able to connect to the Internet and solve the problem. So here’s a tip for those who plan to use the Kintetsu e-Pass: If you’re heading to a more remote area like Mount Yoshino, make sure you have a stable internet connection, or consider getting a more stable local Japanese SIM card. Despite this incident, the Kintetsu Pass is still the best choice for independent travel in the Kansai area, especially for travelers planning to visit Nara and Kyoto!
I had this pass for 20% off so it becomes cheaper & ecomical to reach key tourists spots in Central Japan & Kansai Region. I started at Nagoya (Aichi), then Mie, Ise-Shima, Nara, Kyoto, & Osaka. I was able to see best places in each area in 5 days thru this pass.
The 5-day Plus Pass is incredibly convenient to use! 😊 However, keep in mind a few important details: you’ll need to top up additional money if you’re riding the limited express trains, and make sure your ticket stays perfectly flat—any bends might cause issues with automatic gates. That said, this pass is an extremely valuable and comprehensive option, and I always make it a point to get one whenever I visit Japan. Personally, I prefer Kintetsu trains over JR. Overall, highly recommended!
