Things to do in Byodo-in

Yujin, our tour guide, was incredibly accommodating and always willing to help, even beyond his responsibilities. He shared useful guides, travel tips, and recommendations that made our trip much smoother and more enjoyable. What stood out the most was his ability to speak both English and Chinese. He would explain everything in English first and then in Chinese, making sure everyone understood and felt included. His dedication and kindness truly made our experience memorable.

Our tour guide, Huahua, was wonderful! Her voice was gentle, and she was very diligent in introducing the attractions, even proactively helping everyone take photos. My favorite spot today was Uji; compared to other places, it was less crowded, making it more pleasant to explore! The matcha ice cream is a must-try – it's incredibly delicious and not too sweet! The entire street was filled with a subtle matcha aroma, and every photo turned out beautifully.

Today, we visited famous Japanese landmarks, including Kinkaku-ji Temple, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and Uji. We showed great interest in Japan's history, culture, and the unique characteristics of each site. We highly praised and commended our tour guide for their meticulous and engaging explanations, with many expressing that they gained a lot, had a wonderful time, and that it was a fulfilling and enjoyable learning experience.

I booked the day before scheduled trip, everything was smooth from ontime pickup to drop off. I highly appreciate our tour guide Noa, very responsive and even prepared trivias, restaurant recommendations along the manageable itinerary. its a self guided but timed and manageable tour time for each stop. The bus driver is also commendable for his smooth and easy ride. As a matcha lover, my favorite part was Uji. I was able to try different kinds of matcha flavored foods, tea and drinks. 🍵💚

It was a very fulfilling trip. Our tour guide, Ba-san, was very enthusiastic, shared a lot of knowledge about Japan, and recommended many restaurants and must-buy souvenirs.
