This was my first time visiting for the lunch buffet since the restaurant renovation, and it was for a friend's birthday. The food quality was very high, with oysters, king crab legs, sashimi, chilled shrimp, and chilled conch available. While the variety wasn't extensive, freshness was paramount. It was a shame that on a Saturday, the restaurant was only about half full; I hope business improves in the future. The biggest surprise was the bar staff, who made specialty drinks for guests on the spot. Besides regular coffee or tea, she could also prepare iced lattes (no ice, no sugar) or coffee tonics. My friends and I were all very happy, eating and chatting slowly from 12 PM to 2:30 PM. It was a great weekend activity, and I highly recommend everyone try it!

This time, I bought a Häagen-Dazs ice cream fondue voucher on Klook during a special offer, and it was incredibly cost-effective! The redemption process was very smooth; I just had to show the QR code at the store, which was convenient and quick. There was a rich variety of ice cream flavors, and they paired perfectly with the rich chocolate sauce. The packaging was exquisite, making it suitable for enjoying at home or as a gift. It was much cheaper than buying it directly at the store. I highly recommend it to friends who love desserts, and I will definitely repurchase it next time there's a promotion!

Impeccable Staff Service 💯 I especially want to commend the service attitude of all the front-line staff that day! From the hosts seating guests, to the plate clearers, and the chefs at each food station, everyone was smiling, polite, and attentive. Plates were cleared very quickly and efficiently, never allowing empty dishes to pile up on the table. They were constantly attentive to guests' needs, making everyone feel truly welcome and well-cared for. Exceptionally High-Quality Seafood & Food 🦀 What impressed me most was the abundance and quality of the food! The seafood was incredibly fresh, and cold dishes like oysters and bread crabs were replenished extremely quickly; I never saw an empty platter. The hot food selection was diverse, and whether it was roasted beef, roasted lamb leg, flavorful cooked dishes, or delicate dim sum, the seasoning was perfect. You could really feel the dedication of the culinary team. The dessert section was the perfect ending, with a wide selection of ice cream and various exquisite mini cakes, all of which were on par with high-end dessert shops. In summary: The Astor demonstrates exceptionally high standards in terms of ambiance, service, and food, offering excellent value for money. Ngayon ay kaarawan kaya nag-book kami ng dinner buffet. Ang huli naming punta dito ay tatlong taon na ang nakakaraan para sa lunch buffet. Hindi gaanong karami ang pagpipilian ng pagkain ngunit napakaganda ng kalidad. Nagpapasalamat kami sa restaurant na inayos nila kami sa upuan sa bintana. Maganda ang tanawin, at mas maganda ang kapaligiran sa gabi kaysa sa araw. Hindi gaanong karami ang kumakain, at napaka-disiplinado nila sa pagkuha ng pagkain. Maaari kang mag-enjoy ng masarap na pagkain sa isang tahimik at komportableng kapaligiran 👍🏻. Ang isa pang kapuri-puri ay ang mga staff ay napaka-maalalahanin, palaging tinitingnan kung may mga plato na kailangang alisin, at naghanda pa ng maliit na cake at kinuhanan kami ng litrato sa ilalim ng tanawin ng gabi sa bintana 🙂. Ang tema ng buffet ngayon ay Japanese cuisine tulad ng sukiyaki, caviar at wagyu sushi, na angkop sa aking kasalukuyang layunin na kumain ng mas magaan. Bukod pa rito, mayroong ginseng chicken soup na may malakas na lasa ng ginseng ngunit hindi masyadong matapang, at nag-order ako ng tatlong beses pa 😆. Ang mga dessert ay katamtaman lang, ngunit maraming pagpipilian ng homemade gelato. Ang isa sa mga highlight ay ang mga baked goods na medyo kakaiba, gumawa ako ng sarili kong maliit na pineapple bun (bo lo yau)🤭.

Bumili ng isa, may libreng isa. Sa presyo ng tanghalian na ito, hindi inaasahang napakaraming pagkain, kaya hindi nakapagtataka na puno ang lugar. Lalo na ang mga dessert ay napakasarap at kakaiba, mayroong mango napoleon, durian pancake, creme brulee mochi puff, taro egg waffle, at ilang uri ng soft cookies, pati na rin ang iba't ibang Movenpick ice cream, napaka-sincere at masarap; ang seafood tulad ng talaba at hipon ay normal, at mayroon pang lobster clam; masarap ang salad; ang mga mainit na putahe at Chinese dishes ay katamtaman lang, maaaring pagbutihin; ang Japanese sashimi ay hindi hinihiwa agad kundi nakahanda na para kunin mo, at ang kalidad ay karaniwan lang, ang sushi at cold noodles ay walang gaanong sorpresa. Normal ang serbisyo. Sa pangkalahatan, napakataas ng halaga ng pagkain na ito, maaaring bumalik muli.

The buffet restaurant offers beautiful sea views and comfortable seating, with a reasonable variety of food. However, the hot soup dishes were disappointingly cold, not hot. The male staff member who cleared plates and served ice cream and desserts had an excellent attitude. A major drawback, though, was that precisely at 9:30 PM, when the buffet was scheduled to end, most of the chefs and staff collectively made loud, clanging metal kitchenware and cutlery noises that everyone in the restaurant could hear! This method of clearing metal utensils and rapidly removing food made it seem as if guests were not allowed to stay even one second longer! It was quite startling and embarrassing for customers, almost as if they were being rushed out. All the guests, including a foreign family of three who had arrived late and only had an hour to dine, quickly got up and left the restaurant with me and other patrons. In all my years of frequently enjoying buffets at various hotels in Hong Kong, I have never encountered a hotel restaurant where, precisely at closing time, most of the chefs would display displeasure and deliberately create loud metallic noises, subtly hinting for guests to leave quickly. This was a rare and unsettling experience! Adding to this unpleasant experience, there was a huge, terrifying painting at the restaurant entrance when I left. The painting had a dark, somber tone, depicting only two expressionless men and a child staring directly at you, with terrifying, bottomless black eyes and no whites. It was incredibly eerie and disturbing! No wonder I had previously seen comments from guests saying their seats were in front of this giant painting. I couldn't understand why such a terrifying and unsettling painting of men and a child would be displayed at the entrance of a five-star hotel's high-end restaurant. Seeing this horrifying painting as I left only deepened the unpleasantness of this buffet experience!

Kamakailan, dalawang beses na akong nakapunta sa Tsui Yuen sa New Town Plaza, Sha Tin para mag-dim sum. Masarap naman ang dim sum nila, kaya nang makita kong may promo sa Klook, bumili ako ng coupon. Dumating ako noong Hunyo 6 ng mga 10:30 ng umaga, at napakabait ng mga staff. Kahit maaga ako, mabilis nila akong naipasok. Ngunit, labis akong nadismaya sa dim sum noong araw na iyon. Hindi mainit ang mga pritong pagkain, parang matagal nang nakatambay. Malambot na ang balat at hindi na malutong. Mas malala pa ang har gow at siomai. Parang mga frozen na pre-made dim sum na nabibili sa supermarket. Sobrang daming MSG pa ng siomai. Naisip ko, baka pre-made ang dim sum para sa Klook? Tinanong ko ang waiter. Sabi niya, hindi raw pinaghihiwalay ng kusina kung Klook o ordinaryong customer, pero nakapagtataka, hindi tulad ng karaniwan kong kinakain ang dim sum noong araw na iyon. Ngunit, napakagalang ng mga staff ng restaurant.
