Miyako District

Many thanks to Ken-chan for providing us with an unparalleled experience! Our family of three signed up, and it included round-trip transfers! There were also seven or eight other participants, mostly Japanese! It was clear that everyone loved insects and stargazing! Our guide, Ken-chan, is a very professional and handsome guy! He also speaks English! He led us to see plants, small lizards, geckos, butterflies, spiders, cicadas, coconut crabs, stick insects, and praying mantises on Miyakojima, providing very detailed and thorough explanations! In the latter half, he showed us the starry sky, including the Summer Triangle in the Northern Hemisphere, and the moon and Venus were very close together! The sky full of stars was beautiful! Ken-chan also took time-lapse photos for each group that signed up. If you come to Miyakojima, you must sign up for this experience; it will definitely leave you with wonderful memories!

This private car tour experience was fantastic! We booked a 5-hour private car and arranged three attractions ourselves. Everything went smoothly without any delays. Although the driver was Japanese, he was very kind and friendly. Even communicating through gestures was not a problem. At each attraction, the driver waited nearby, which made us feel very secure. He even offered to help us take photos, which was really sweet 😆. After eating ice cream at the Snow Salt Museum, one of our stops, we found a beautiful beach right next to it. We spent some time on the beach; the scenery was stunning, and the weather was very pleasant. The children splashed in the water and played in the sand, enjoying a happy afternoon. Before heading to our last destination, the driver proactively took us to see Ikema Bridge, where we enjoyed the sea view and the breeze. It felt wonderful. It was a great private car experience, highly recommended! 👍👍

I originally planned to join a regular bus tour, but after looking at many itineraries, I felt that the time spent at each attraction was too short, lacking the leisurely feel that an island trip should have. In the end, I chose a private tour, and after experiencing it, I felt it was well worth it. Before departure, I communicated via email and LINE to discuss the attractions I wanted to visit. The itinerary could be flexibly adjusted, which was very reassuring. Our private guide for the day, Ken-san, is a Japanese person who loves to travel and is very fluent in English. My English level is quite basic, but he adapted to my level, communicating in simple and easy-to-understand English. When encountering more difficult parts, he would use translation software to show me the Chinese translation. The whole process was very thoughtful and stress-free, and he also helped take photos to remember the trip. Before the end, he recommended some good restaurants and helped make reservations in Japanese over the phone, which was a huge bonus. Overall, it was a very comfortable, relaxed, and pleasant experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants more flexibility in planning their itinerary.

We made a reservation for four people. It seemed like there were four groups of about six people each on the boat. Each group had an instructor assigned, and those who couldn't swim were given a tube attached to a rope and pulled from start to finish. There were three spots in total, and the first one was the best. We started at 11:30 AM and returned around 2:30 PM.

Yuri was our guide, and honestly, he made the whole experience! Super friendly right from the start, and his energy was so warm and reassuring, especially for beginners like us. We felt completely safe the whole time. We were in a small group, which we really liked, it made everything feel more personal. What really stood out was how hard he worked to get us great photos. He'd dive down several feet, hold his position, and blow these big bubble rings just to frame the shot. The water depth was perfect too, shallow enough that we could hover right over the coral and watch all the fish doing their thing with zero effort. There were other people swimming around, but Yuri made it easy to spot him and regroup whenever we needed. We’re so happy with the experience!

It was such a wonderful experience! Our guide, Mashi, was so enthusiastic, taking great photos and taking us to amazing spots like the sea turtle point, Nemo point, and coral and fish school points. It was fantastic! 👍 Especially seeing one turtle right after getting in and then three simultaneously at the end 😍 I highly recommend it! Haha, we could communicate in English, and he even spoke a little Korean, which made it very comfortable. He also checked on our condition frequently, so even if you don't know Japanese, you can fully enjoy it! It was great that he sent us the photos immediately via AirDrop after the experience. He took so many continuous shots, so there were plenty of good ones to choose from. Haha, I was worried it might be cold, but it wasn't cold at all; it was just perfect. I think I'll come back to Miyakojima just for snorkeling! This alone is worth it.

Snorkeling in Miyakojima in winter! And I even met a very beautiful and cute turtle ^-^ I was worried because the weather wasn't cooperating, so I hastily booked it the day before, but thanks to their kind guidance and care, my children and I had a wonderful time! This time, we participated in snorkeling to see sea turtles and SUP activities, which were a lot of fun and everyone had a great time. Although there was a language barrier, our guide Yumi was still very dedicated and tried her best to guide us with gestures, constantly checking on our well-being, and even took many photos. We were also very lucky; as soon as we got into the water, we saw cute sea turtles, coral reefs, and beautiful Nemo fish hiding in anemones. We look forward to coming back with our children next time.

Pros: Adoramos nosso passeio pela Caverna da Abóbora. Pular da abóbora na água foi divertido! Andar de caiaque foi agradável. Contras: Não pudemos levar nossa câmera e tivemos que depender das fotos que eles tiraram para nós. Infelizmente, as fotos deles não são super boas, algumas ficaram razoáveis, mas a maioria estava granulada. Estava lotado. Grupo após grupo entrava na caverna da abóbora.
