It was a great morning walk through Taichung old town learning the history of Taichung railway and the scenic green canal. Interesting old buildings and good food at the 2nd Market

The meeting point was very convenient, right at the entrance of the Taichung Railway Station Tourist Center. Our guide, Pei, was already waiting for us at 9:55 AM. Originally, there were supposed to be four participants for the walking tour, but in the end, it was just the two of us, turning it into a private tour. Pei explained the itinerary, route, and the history of the attractions in great detail, always with a warm smile. The tour was primarily conducted in English, but when I didn't understand something, she would switch to Mandarin to help out. My husband and I felt it was excellent value for money. She even created a simple, easy-to-understand illustrated itinerary folded into a small booklet, which was very engaging. The tour concluded successfully at 12:30 PM at the First Market. Perhaps Klook charges too little, only HK$2 per person, so of course, we tipped the guide to thank her for her genuine and enthusiastic service. I understand that many people book but then don't show up, probably because HK$2 is indeed too cheap.

Our tour guide Rowena is very polite, very helpful, and knowledgeable. She can switch between both Chinese and English, and she provided us with a good history of Taichung's railway, river, and pastry. It was a good 2.5-hour slow walk on a cool morning. Keep up the good work.

We had an amazing time on the Taichung Free Walking Tour (Rail and River Route)! Our tour guide, Pei, was excellent — she was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting historical and cultural information throughout the tour. Her communication skills were impressive, and she made sure everyone in the group was engaged and comfortable. The route was well-planned, with a good mix of nature, heritage, and hidden gems around Taichung. We especially appreciated how Pei answered all our questions enthusiastically and gave helpful recommendations for places to visit after the tour. Highly recommended for first-time visitors and anyone who wants to experience Taichung from a local’s perspective. Thank you, Pei, for a memorable experience!

You can explore Taichung on your own or join a tour. We opted for B and afterwards were so much wiser and saw the Central District with completely different eyes. Our guide Rowena led us to so many great spots that we would never have discovered on our own. With great passion and her extensive knowledge of the city and Taiwan's history, Rowena brought her homeland closer to us, was open to all questions, and is simply a wonderfully likeable person whom we will keep in our hearts. Thank you very much, Rowena, for this great tour.

Rowena fue nuestra guía y demostró un gran conocimiento y pasión por la historia y el desarrollo de Taichung. El recorrido es muy recomendable para cualquiera que quiera aprender más sobre la ciudad. Rowena nos dio fruta gratis y un pastel de sol durante el trayecto.

Judy is a great tour guide and this walking experience too. Downside is the weather because it's too hot but overall experience is great. Also learned a lot of Taichung's history and the places we've been to.
