Nice experience riding a hot air balloon, we participated in the preparation works before taking off and after landing. Had a muffin and glass of Champagne or oringe juice before leaving to town.

The hot air balloon ride was very smooth! You can see mountain views, various grasslands, and rice paddies. We even saw dairy cows, Angus cattle, sheep, and wild rabbits! Afterwards, there was champagne, juice, and muffins to enjoy. 🥰

We booked a hot air balloon experience for our family and regretted it after. It was so smooth, fantastic and comfortable that no other experience after would be able to match or top it. For someone who is afraid of heights, I loved this experience! Graeme was so in control that there was no fear and we enjoyed the experience tremendously! If you want an adventure, this is for you. Waking up early is totally worth it.

Flight was cancelled due to weather. But I am grateful enough of the advance update given by the operator.

This was a wonderful experience, and the captain was very enthusiastic, introducing the nearby scenery and chatting with us. It was fantastic!

Terrible communication! Absolutely not recommended, a complete waste of time! Two days before the activity, they contacted us by email saying the weather might be bad on Wednesday and asked us to switch to Saturday. However, we replied that we would have already left the area by Saturday. The hot air balloon company, knowing we were 2.5 hours away in Tekapo, suggested that if we could come the next day, Tuesday, we could still fly, as the weather would be suitable on Tuesday. So, we changed our original plans, drove overnight, and arrived at the meeting point at 3 AM from Tekapo. The meeting time was 6 AM. The two of us and three other tourists arrived on time. Then, the hot air balloon company staff arrived, looked up at the sky, which was very clear at the time. Unfortunately, they quickly announced the cancellation of the activity, stating that the weather would worsen throughout the day and would not be suitable for flying. This meant our 5-hour round trip drive in the middle of the night was a complete waste. The weather that day turned out to be excellent; on our way out, we saw other hot air balloons flying. The most unacceptable part is that this company cannot predict the weather and inform you in advance whether they will fly. They can only decide at the meeting point, by the roadside, after looking at the sky. If they could have notified us in advance, we wouldn't have wasted our journey. What's even more ironic is that it was the hot air balloon company that suggested we reschedule to that very day. Angry and disappointed, we later went to another hot air balloon company in the same area and successfully flew. The other hot air balloon company stated that they had flown on Tuesday, the weather was great, and they didn't understand the other company's judgment. They also mentioned that weather forecasts are made the night before and are very accurate, and they always inform customers the night before, not announcing cancellations only upon arrival at the meeting point, making everyone travel for nothing.
