The restaurant is in a great location, very close to Yasaka Shrine. It's perfect to visit Yasaka Shrine at night after dinner. I have a small appetite, so I chose the most basic Gen set meal. I upgraded to the thick-cut sashimi upon arrival, which I think was very necessary because the texture difference is significant. The first sashimi dish was delicious. The other drink I ordered, with a fin or something, was very interesting and had a performance aspect to it – worth trying. The cocktail I ordered was said to contain fugu collagen, and it had a soft, slippery jelly layer when consumed. Booking a set meal is quite convenient. You don't have to worry about lunch during the day. Just arrive on time.

With dedicated table service, all you have to do is enjoy the delicious food. The restaurant thoughtfully provided scarves to prevent our rented yukata from getting stained. Everything except the shirako (which costs an additional ¥2500) was included in the set meal. The fugu (pufferfish) was fresh, the chilled fish skin salad was springy and chewy, and both grilled options we chose were excellent. The final paper hot pot was a unique experience! The staff were friendly and attentive. This restaurant offers great value for money! 👍

All the ratings are very good, and the location is near Yasaka Shrine. If you are touring this area, this shop is indeed very convenient and easy to find. If you want to visit the shrine and save time by not queuing, you can book a table in advance. The only drawback is that the shop has 3 floors, and the stairs are long and narrow. If there are elderly people, it might be good to mention this beforehand so they can be aware.

The service was very nice. The staff were very polite and friendly. The atmosphere is excellent and quiet, and the serving size is quite big because we were very full at the end. The overall experience is 9.5 out of 10. The egg soup with rice was cooked in front of us, and the deep-fried puffer fish was very nice too.

High value for money, a wide variety of dishes served promptly and generously. The service is attentive and friendly, and the food tastes excellent. It's the best choice for experiencing fugu cuisine, and I would definitely want to go again and again.

Genpin Gion is conveniently located near a bus stop. Kyoto's buses run frequently, making travel very easy. The food is delicious and fresh, and the service is also good.

The overall restaurant experience was satisfying and very novel. The preparation of the fugu (pufferfish) dishes was meticulous and surprising. The only drawbacks were that the Kyoto branch's interior space was a bit narrow, and you had to climb stairs.
