Fantastic 5.0
The hotel is conveniently located 3-5 minutes from Yamagata Station, offering excellent transportation access. The rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms feature separate wet and dry areas with large bathtubs, providing exceptional comfort. On the first floor, there's a 7-Eleven convenience store and a famous Yonezawa beef restaurant. Overall, its convenient location, modern facilities, and comfortable spaces make it highly recommended.

Great 4.0
The walk from the hotel to Yamagata Station took longer than expected. The hotel hallways were too dimly lit; the manager could install brighter lights. However, the hotel's breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the staff were very friendly, which was a big plus.

Fantastic 5.0
Everything is perfect for this hotel. There is public parking lot next to hotel 24hr cost only 500 yen and can walk to the back door of hotel. Free drink and icecream from checkin time to 4pm and also 80 bowls of free yamagata soba from 8-10pm. Room is big enough to fit 2 people. Walk distrance to Kajo park. I love this hotel

Great 4.0
The hotel is a bit of a distance from Yamagata Station, but it's right next to Mitsukoshi Department Store, making shopping convenient. It includes breakfast, and the room rate is very good. However, the space is quite small. We had three people, and one of the beds was an extra bed. The bathroom was also very small, and the carpeted floor showed its age. The hot water kettle was an old-fashioned insulated type, which wasn't very convenient for filling with water. We chose this place mainly because of the affordable price. Breakfast: Good Service: Excellent

Great 4.0
Convenient Transportation: Very close to Yamagata Station. Hotel Location: There are many izakayas (Japanese pubs) in the surrounding area. In the evenings, it becomes very lively and brightly lit, like the spirit world in "Spirited Away" (there are also some adult entertainment shops behind the hotel). Service: Excellent. The lobby staff actively guided us as foreign tourists and could communicate a little in English. The lobby also provided a sufficient quantity of high-quality extra amenities for guests to take. Cleanliness: The room cleanliness was average, with no strange odors or mold, but it was relatively old.

More about Yamagata hotels

What staying in Yamagata feels like

Stays in Yamagata sit on a relatively tight price spectrum — the gap between the top and bottom is small, so upgrading only nudges your nightly cost. The best balance between cost and comfort is typically in the standard tier, which offers the most value for most travellers.

How the hotel classes compare and who they suit

Economy rooms are the most affordable option and sit below the standard tier, making them a sensible choice for travellers focused on keeping costs down. Standard rooms represent the best value and are a comfortable middle ground for most visitors. The biggest price step is from standard up to premium, so deciding to move into the premium tier is the main budget decision point — premium adds a noticeable jump in nightly rate and suits travellers who want extra comfort. Luxury accommodation is not listed in the city summary, so most comparisons stop at premium.

When travellers from the United States typically book

The priciest month for nightly rates is 08, while the cheapest is 04, and a budget-led trip is best planned for 04 when rates are lowest. Rooms are typically reserved about 8 days in advance, so if you prefer certainty book a bit earlier, especially when travelling in pricier periods; last-minute availability can still appear within a day.
