Fantastic 5.0
The hotel is conveniently located 3-5 minutes from Yamagata Station, offering excellent transportation access. The rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms feature separate wet and dry areas with large bathtubs, providing exceptional comfort. On the first floor, there's a 7-Eleven convenience store and a famous Yonezawa beef restaurant. Overall, its convenient location, modern facilities, and comfortable spaces make it highly recommended.

Great 4.0
The walk from the hotel to Yamagata Station took longer than expected. The hotel hallways were too dimly lit; the manager could install brighter lights. However, the hotel's breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the staff were very friendly, which was a big plus.

Fantastic 5.0
Everything is perfect for this hotel. There is public parking lot next to hotel 24hr cost only 500 yen and can walk to the back door of hotel. Free drink and icecream from checkin time to 4pm and also 80 bowls of free yamagata soba from 8-10pm. Room is big enough to fit 2 people. Walk distrance to Kajo park. I love this hotel

Great 4.0
The hotel is a bit of a distance from Yamagata Station, but it's right next to Mitsukoshi Department Store, making shopping convenient. It includes breakfast, and the room rate is very good. However, the space is quite small. We had three people, and one of the beds was an extra bed. The bathroom was also very small, and the carpeted floor showed its age. The hot water kettle was an old-fashioned insulated type, which wasn't very convenient for filling with water. We chose this place mainly because of the affordable price. Breakfast: Good Service: Excellent

Great 4.0
Convenient Transportation: Very close to Yamagata Station. Hotel Location: There are many izakayas (Japanese pubs) in the surrounding area. In the evenings, it becomes very lively and brightly lit, like the spirit world in "Spirited Away" (there are also some adult entertainment shops behind the hotel). Service: Excellent. The lobby staff actively guided us as foreign tourists and could communicate a little in English. The lobby also provided a sufficient quantity of high-quality extra amenities for guests to take. Cleanliness: The room cleanliness was average, with no strange odors or mold, but it was relatively old.

More about Yamagata hotels

Staying in Yamagata: what to expect and value

Staying in Yamagata shows a narrow price spread between the most affordable and most premium options — the top-tier average sits roughly on par with the bottom tier, so you won’t see huge leaps across the market. The best balance of price and comfort is in the standard tier, which tends to offer the strongest value for most travellers.

How hotel classes compare and where to upgrade

Economy rooms occupy the lower end but are close in price to other tiers, making them a practical choice for budget-minded travellers or short stays. The standard tier is the best-value sweet spot and sits above economy while keeping costs reasonable for most visitors. The biggest step up comes when moving from standard to premium: that upgrade is the most noticeable price jump and suits travellers who prioritise extra comfort or amenities. Premium properties command the highest rates and are aimed at those who want a more refined stay rather than strict savings.

When travellers from Singapore should book

If you’re travelling from Singapore, expect to book around a month in advance on average, with many travellers securing rooms about 35 days beforehand and some booking earlier for peak periods. Rates are lowest in Apr and peak in Aug, so a budget-led trip fits best in Apr when prices are much lower than in the priciest month. Rooms are generally booked more than a week ahead, so flexibility is possible but plan earlier for travel in August.
