I booked a Kerama Islands snorkeling plus sea turtle swimming package via Klook, with Miegusuku Port as the meeting point. I self drove so I did not use the provided pick up service, and parking at the port is chargeable. Check in started around 8.20am. Onboard, all equipment such as wetsuits, masks, fins, and life jackets were provided, along with a safety briefing and optional add ons like banana boat rides, jet ski activities, and GoPro rental. The boat reached the snorkeling site in about 20mins, where we entered the water in guided groups. After an initial session and a short break on the yacht with tea provided, participants split into different activity groups. The sea turtle experience involved a short banana boat ride to a nearby spot, where staff first checked for turtles before we snorkelled in the area, followed by additional free snorkeling nearby. We returned to the yacht around 11.00am and arrived back at port at about 11.50am, with equipment cleaned on board.

Enjoyed the tour, especially the Okinawa Chaurumi Aquarium. 🐟 I can consider it one of the highlights of my trip here in Okinawa. The only bad side is that the tour guide can only speak in Chinese, make sure to book one with an English tour guide so that you will understand what he says. 😅

You need to buy tickets the day before. Exchanging tickets was easy. We arrived at 10 AM. No water or drinks are allowed inside. There are lockers available to store bags for 100 Japanese Yen per use, and you can get your coin back. If you don't have change, you can exchange money at the counter. The facility is divided into about seven major zones, each with a theme. It was a bit dark when we first entered, but the kids weren't afraid once they started playing. It's highly interactive with many ways to play. We happened to meet a Japanese staff member who spoke Chinese and gave us a very detailed introduction, so we got to enjoy many of the intricate details. The kids played inside for two hours.

I traveled alone and don't drive. It was worth the trip, but I didn't realize there was no tour guide. The day before, I had a guided tour of the northern region, so I assumed this southern day trip would also have a guide. It turns out I just didn't pay attention when booking (no wonder it was so cheap, haha!). Although the driver was Japanese and didn't speak Chinese, there was a translation app on his phone that we could listen to. The driver was also very thoughtful and helped us make sure we were back on the bus on time. So, there was no need to worry about not understanding or being confused. Plus, there were many other Taiwanese tourists on the bus. It was a great experience and well worth it.

The tour service was excellent. We contacted them via WhatsApp in advance, confirming our booking two days before the actual date. In Japan, there was a typhoon warning (Typhoon No. 6) for Okinawa. The staff promptly coordinated and sent a message informing us of the tour cancellation for that day. We were given the option to reschedule or cancel. We chose to reschedule for two days later, and fortunately, we had clear skies on the day we went. The trip was smooth, and the staff provided detailed information to each group, including meeting times and locations, and even shared the exact coordinates on WhatsApp. On that day, there were many international tourists from various countries, but everyone was punctual and well-behaved on the tour bus. We were very happy with this tour; it was definitely worth it, comfortable, and allowed us to relax as the bus took us to different spots. We were safely picked up and dropped off at our destination.

The trip was wonderful: everything was quick, you don't even notice the heat, everyone was very polite, and the guides were simply amazing (they showed us everything, told us stories, helped with masks and fins, and even brought up starfish from the seabed). We felt like we were in the movie "The Little Mermaid."

What to know before visiting Naha

Naha at a glance: what to expect year-round

Naha’s Klook bookings are led by tours, cruises and museums, with cultural experiences and outdoor activities also popular — so the city suits travellers who want a mix of sightseeing, sea trips and local culture. Demand peaks in April and drops into a low in September, giving the city a rhythm of lively spring months and much quieter early autumn weeks.

When to visit: peaks, prices and the best months for you

Klook data show April is the busiest month, while September sees the lowest booking demand. Prices, however, move differently: Klook’s past prices were typically lowest in July and highest in September, so the quietest month on demand is actually among the priciest months on price data. For lower prices and fewer crowds, consider July when prices have historically been at their lowest; if you want peak-season atmosphere and the liveliest scene, aim for April despite somewhat higher demand. Note the divergence between demand and prices around September — it’s quieter but not necessarily cheaper according to past Klook bookings.

Tips for travellers from Singapore

Most travellers from Singapore typically book about nine days ahead, with some last-minute options up to three days before — so you have room to plan yet still be flexible. If you’re travelling in April (the peak month), try to secure key tours and cruises earlier within that typical lead time; for July trips, you can often find lower prices even with shorter lead times. Use Klook to lock in activities that suit your schedule and travel style without feeling forced to decide months ahead.
