Fantastic 5.0
The hotel is conveniently located 3-5 minutes from Yamagata Station, offering excellent transportation access. The rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms feature separate wet and dry areas with large bathtubs, providing exceptional comfort. On the first floor, there's a 7-Eleven convenience store and a famous Yonezawa beef restaurant. Overall, its convenient location, modern facilities, and comfortable spaces make it highly recommended.

Great 4.0
The walk from the hotel to Yamagata Station took longer than expected. The hotel hallways were too dimly lit; the manager could install brighter lights. However, the hotel's breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the staff were very friendly, which was a big plus.

Fantastic 5.0
Everything is perfect for this hotel. There is public parking lot next to hotel 24hr cost only 500 yen and can walk to the back door of hotel. Free drink and icecream from checkin time to 4pm and also 80 bowls of free yamagata soba from 8-10pm. Room is big enough to fit 2 people. Walk distrance to Kajo park. I love this hotel

Great 4.0
The hotel is a bit of a distance from Yamagata Station, but it's right next to Mitsukoshi Department Store, making shopping convenient. It includes breakfast, and the room rate is very good. However, the space is quite small. We had three people, and one of the beds was an extra bed. The bathroom was also very small, and the carpeted floor showed its age. The hot water kettle was an old-fashioned insulated type, which wasn't very convenient for filling with water. We chose this place mainly because of the affordable price. Breakfast: Good Service: Excellent

Great 4.0
Convenient Transportation: Very close to Yamagata Station. Hotel Location: There are many izakayas (Japanese pubs) in the surrounding area. In the evenings, it becomes very lively and brightly lit, like the spirit world in "Spirited Away" (there are also some adult entertainment shops behind the hotel). Service: Excellent. The lobby staff actively guided us as foreign tourists and could communicate a little in English. The lobby also provided a sufficient quantity of high-quality extra amenities for guests to take. Cleanliness: The room cleanliness was average, with no strange odors or mold, but it was relatively old.

More about Yamagata hotels

Staying in Yamagata: what to expect

Staying in Yamagata shows a fairly narrow price spread between the most affordable and the more premium options — the top and bottom sit close in scale — with standard hotels offering the best balance of value. If you want comfortable rooms without stretching into premium rates, the standard tier is the sweet spot for most travellers.

How hotel classes compare and who they suit

Economy options sit at the entry level and are the most budget-oriented choice relative to the others, good for travellers prioritising low cost. Standard properties represent the best value and are the mid-market anchor before the biggest price step up to premium; they suit travellers wanting a comfortable middle ground. The premium tier is noticeably more expensive than standard and is the main decision point for anyone considering extra comfort or amenities. Use the jump from standard to premium as the tipping point when deciding whether to spend more on your stay.

When travellers from Hong Kong typically book

Rates peak in 8月 and hit their low in 4月, so a budget-led trip is best aimed at 4月 when nightly rates are lower. Rooms are commonly reserved about 35 days ahead on average, so plan to lock in a room several weeks before travel, and consider earlier booking in 8月 when rates are highest.
