Fantastic 5.0
The hotel is conveniently located 3-5 minutes from Yamagata Station, offering excellent transportation access. The rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms feature separate wet and dry areas with large bathtubs, providing exceptional comfort. On the first floor, there's a 7-Eleven convenience store and a famous Yonezawa beef restaurant. Overall, its convenient location, modern facilities, and comfortable spaces make it highly recommended.

Great 4.0
The walk from the hotel to Yamagata Station took longer than expected. The hotel hallways were too dimly lit; the manager could install brighter lights. However, the hotel's breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the staff were very friendly, which was a big plus.

Fantastic 5.0
Everything is perfect for this hotel. There is public parking lot next to hotel 24hr cost only 500 yen and can walk to the back door of hotel. Free drink and icecream from checkin time to 4pm and also 80 bowls of free yamagata soba from 8-10pm. Room is big enough to fit 2 people. Walk distrance to Kajo park. I love this hotel

Great 4.0
The hotel is a bit of a distance from Yamagata Station, but it's right next to Mitsukoshi Department Store, making shopping convenient. It includes breakfast, and the room rate is very good. However, the space is quite small. We had three people, and one of the beds was an extra bed. The bathroom was also very small, and the carpeted floor showed its age. The hot water kettle was an old-fashioned insulated type, which wasn't very convenient for filling with water. We chose this place mainly because of the affordable price. Breakfast: Good Service: Excellent

Great 4.0
Convenient Transportation: Very close to Yamagata Station. Hotel Location: There are many izakayas (Japanese pubs) in the surrounding area. In the evenings, it becomes very lively and brightly lit, like the spirit world in "Spirited Away" (there are also some adult entertainment shops behind the hotel). Service: Excellent. The lobby staff actively guided us as foreign tourists and could communicate a little in English. The lobby also provided a sufficient quantity of high-quality extra amenities for guests to take. Cleanliness: The room cleanliness was average, with no strange odors or mold, but it was relatively old.

More about Yamagata hotels

What staying in Yamagata feels like

Staying in Yamagata shows a surprisingly narrow spread between the most affordable and most premium options — the top and bottom tiers sit very close in price, so upgrading doesn’t jump costs dramatically. The best balance for most travellers is the standard tier, which delivers the best value for money.

How the hotel classes compare and who they suit

Economy rooms sit at the lower-cost end but are only marginally cheaper than other classes, making them a practical choice for budget-focused travellers who prioritise basics. Standard is the sweet spot and represents the best value; it suits travellers who want a reliable mid-range experience without a big price penalty. The biggest step up in price comes when moving from standard to premium, so that jump is the main decision point for anyone debating added comfort or extras. Premium rooms sit above standard and are best for travellers willing to pay more for a noticeably higher level of comfort.

When travellers from the Philippines tend to book

For travellers from the Philippines, the priciest month is August and the cheapest month is April, with April typically being the most budget-friendly time to visit. Rooms are often booked about 35 days in advance on average, so if you want to secure specific dates — especially in August — plan roughly five weeks ahead; otherwise, with short-notice flexibility available, last-minute trips can still work.
