Sensoji Temple

Located in Asakusa district, Tokyo, Sensoji Temple, also known as Asakusa Kannon Temple, is Tokyo's oldest temple and a sacred spot across Japan, drawing more than 30 million visitors each year. According to legend, over 1,400 years ago during the Edo period, two brothers discovered a statue of Kannon, the Buddhist goddess of mercy, while fishing in the Sumida River. No matter how many times they returned the statue to the water, it kept coming back to them. That's why Sensoji Temple was built nearby in 645, making it the oldest temple in Tokyo and a Shinto shrine dedicated to Kannon. Throughout the year, the temple grounds host exciting events like the Sanja Matsuri festival in May, the Asakusa Samba Carnival in August, and the traditional Hagoita Market, where decorative paddles are sold for a fun game called hanetsuki. We had such a great time with Ale. He was very knowledgeable and we felt like locals at the best spots at the best time of the day to take pictures in iconic spots and sceneries! Since we started our photoshoot at 8:00 am, as suggested by Ale, we had all photo locations to ourselves at Kamakura and Enoshima!! By the time we finished our shoot, we ended at Enoshima which when it started to get PACKED with tourists and visitors — but it was the perfect time to grab early lunch / snacks / visit the shops as everything started to open around 10:30-11:00 AM. Honestly, this was one of the best days of our 10-day Japan trip because we never get to take our pictures as a couple (normally just individual pics), but we got to take beautiful pics that we’ll show our kids someday — all thanks to Ale!! And then we got to experience everything Kamakura and Enoshima had to offer! It was hard to only choose the SIX photos to showcase the MANY pictures that Ale sent us — We are so grateful! Thank you!

Booking Adrian was easily one of the best decisions of my Tokyo trip. I’d never done a shoot like this before and I was expecting to feel awkward in front of the camera, but he’s so warm and easy to talk to that it honestly felt like walking around the city with a friend rather than being photographed. He took me to spots I never would have found on my own — places completely off the usual tourist route — and the shots we got there are incredible. You can tell he knows the city inside out and genuinely cares about the result. The editing is beautiful too, everything has a real cinematic feel to it. I’ll definitely be booking him again next time I’m in Tokyo, and I’d love to shoot in different parts of the city with him. Thank you Adrian!🫶🫶🫶

Photographer Jenny was very professional. On the day of the shoot, the weather at Mount Fuji was excellent, and she patiently guided us on posing, resulting in natural and beautiful photos. After receiving the pictures, we were very satisfied overall; the images were clear and natural, and the expressions were great. She even drove us back to our hotel after the shoot. Her service was thoughtful and highly recommended.

What to know before visiting Tokyo

Quick city snapshot and what draws visitors to Tokyo

Tokyo’s Klook bookings are led by observation decks, museums and theme parks, with cultural experiences and tours also popular. Demand peaks in November and dips around June, so the city’s visitor rhythm swings between lively late-autumn crowds and much quieter early summer months.

When to visit for crowds and prices

According to Klook booking data, November is the busiest month while June is the quietest. Prices drift modestly through the year: activity prices are typically highest in July and reach their Klook-observed low point in April, with a roughly 19% gap between those months. If you want smaller crowds and lower-cost experiences, aim for June or April; if you want peak-season atmosphere and the busiest scene, visit in November. Overall, demand and prices don’t move in perfect sync here — the busiest month (November) is not the most expensive (July), so you can sometimes catch lively crowds without paying July peak prices.

Tips for travellers from Hong Kong

Most travellers from Hong Kong tend to book about eight days before their Tokyo activities, with last-minute bookings possible around two days out and earlier planning useful up to about 15 days. For shorter, flexible trips you can often book a couple of days ahead, but if you travel in November consider locking in key experiences a week or more beforehand. Use Klook to compare availability across observation decks, museums and theme parks to secure the time slots you want.
