    suwon
Travelling from Seoul to Suwon is remarkably straightforward, with multiple public transportation options available.
Klook Tip: Before your trip, download Naver Map and bookmark all your destination addresses. This will make navigating much faster and easier once you're in Korea.

    1. By Subway

This is often considered the most affordable way to reach Suwon. Taking subway line 1 to Suwon station will get you there in approximately 1 hour. You can also keep a look out for the express train that'll reduce your travel time by about 7 minutes— it does so by skipping 9 stations!

You can use your T-money card to pay for your travel fare to Suwon, but Climate Card users should note that the Climate Card can only be used in Seoul. This means that you can't use the Climate Card to get to Suwon and will have to purchase a single journey ticket instead.

    2. By Bus

The bus offers another easy route, taking about an hour or less. Again, downloading Naver Map is highly recommended for navigation. For example, if you're starting from Seoul station, Naver might suggest taking bus 5101 to Uiwang Tollgate. You'll then have to continue your journey with bus 7770 or 2007, which will travel 11 stops to Jangan Park. From there, it's a short 4 minute walk to Suwon Hwaseong Fortress.

    3. By Train

For the fastest option, consider taking a train from Seoul Station.
    • ITX trains: 31-35 minutes (4,800 won)
    • Mugunghwa trains: 35 minutes (2,700 won)
    • KTX trains: 35 minutes (8,400 won)
When departing from Seoul Station, head out through Exit 1 to the KTX station and check the board for your train platform. While you can book tickets online in advance, tickets are also available to purchase at the station. The return journey to Seoul follows the same process, and you can pre-check schedules online.
