Hotels near Thang Long Citadel

We had a pleasant stay at Especen Hotel in Hanoi. The location is excellent, right in the Old Quarter and just a short walk from St. Joseph’s Cathedral and Hoan Kiem Lake. There are plenty of restaurants, cafés, shops, and attractions nearby. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little older, but considering the affordable price and fantastic location, it offers good value for money. One thing to keep in mind is that there is no elevator, so be prepared to use the stairs if your room is on a higher floor. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Especen Hotel, especially for travelers who want to stay in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter without spending too much.

This hotel is charming, clean, and highly recommended. Although our room didn't have a lake view, it had a bathtub, was very clean, and had a pleasant atmosphere. The location is also convenient for sightseeing, right near the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre, which we visited in the evening right after arriving from the airport. The breakfast was delicious; they even made pho fresh on the spot, allowing us to savor Vietnamese cuisine. The shrimp dishes were particularly tasty. It was a bit chilly in the mornings during our stay, but the breakfast area opened around 7 AM, and we even used the pool. There's a shower on the 10th floor where you can freshen up and change before heading up to the 11th floor via stairs. The view from there was lovely and refreshing. Despite the affordable price, the staff were incredibly attentive. There was a doorman, and when we checked out, the front desk staff escorted us to our taxi and even gave us a souvenir. I felt their hospitality surpassed even Japanese standards. Bottled water was provided and could be chilled in the refrigerator, and there was also a hairdryer. Amenities like toner and facial cleanser were not available. It seems you can also use the shower facilities after checking out and storing your luggage. This is an excellent hotel with comprehensive services, and I highly recommend it.

Had a great stay at Hanoi Lane Homestay! The location is perfect and right at the heart of the Old Quarters, making it very accessible and within walking distance of so many tourist spots, cafes, and stores. If you enjoy nightlife, the party area is literally just outside the street, which is super convenient. But what I really appreciated was that once inside the room, you could barely hear the music, so it was still peaceful enough to rest comfortably. The host and staff were incredibly kind, accommodating, and welcoming throughout our stay. They can also understand and communicate in English well, which made everything much easier. Another plus is that they allow you to leave your luggage even after check-out—you just need to inform them what time you’ll be coming back for it. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a convenient, comfortable, and hospitable stay in Hanoi!

The staff at Le Parfum Appartments were so helpful to us and made our stay a happy one. There wasn’t much in the kitchen like plates and utensils but that didn’t matter to us as there are many nearby restaurants and street food venders. We also enjoyed going to the roof top cafe every day.
