Things to do in Banqiao Station

You can visit three museums. It's pretty good. You can see all three in one day. I recommend going if you haven't been. It's a great value.

I almost missed my tour in Tainan because I missed the train, but luckily I was able to join. It was a tough schedule from morning to night, but thanks to our amazing guide, Jjang, we had a fulfilling tour. It was a day I was so grateful for, even my grumbling middle school son followed along well.

Honestly, I was very worried because it rained heavily on the day of the tour. I was secretly disappointed, thinking that the bad weather would make me feel heavy and prevent me from fully enjoying the planned trip. However, it was you, our guide, who turned those worries into anticipation. Even in the pouring rain, you passionately explained Taiwan's history and culture without a moment's fatigue. What was most touching was how you tried so hard to capture even one more memory for us, regardless of your own clothes getting soaked. Seeing your back as you pressed the shutter in the rain, saying, “All that remains are photos,” truly moved me, as I felt your genuine dedication to us. I'll never forget the warm encouragement you offered to the participants who were getting a little tired from the rain. Especially when you spoke about the “preciousness of the connections we made here,” I felt a deep sincerity, person-to-person, beyond just a guide-and-tourist relationship. Thanks to your positive energy, rainy Taiwan was remembered not as an 'unfortunate day,' but as a 'charming and special day of memories.' It felt like I received a warm story, not just a simple tour. Meeting such a passionate and warm guide was the best fortune of this trip. We booked the DIY experience and the instructor/s were all so friendly and accommodating. The experience is relaxing and not intimidating at all. They have space for you to hang your jacket and store your bag and they have water and warm tea to drink if you want. The instructor will check on you from time to time and will help you if you need it. The tools and wet ingredients are measured and prepared already and I only had to measure the dry ingredients. The instructions are easy to follow and the pineapple cake I made tasted fresh and different from the common and affordable ones that can be bought as souvenirs. Still tasted good even after 3 days! My partner did the pepper buns DIY and we sat together. They will also take a photo of you to print as a postcard with the ingredients listed at the back. Highly recommended! One of my favorite things to do in Taipei and will surely try this again when we get back.
