Things to do in National Palace Museum

Good place to spend a whole day. start from the top and work your way down. the collection is ordered from earliest period on the top floor, and later pieces on lower floors. public transport to get there is easy and cheaper then the sight seeing bus. there are so many pieces there you might want to come another day to see the rest. Do eat before coming here as there is only a small cafe that is constantly crowded. Besides their most popular pieces that people seem to like to view, you will find other pieces you will like I found the gate cups to be the ones I prefer over the popular pieces.

The Fun Pass is really useful and great. However, if you try to enjoy all these benefits within a short schedule, your trip might become too exhausting. So, I recommend comparing the monetary value of the benefits you'd get and then making your purchase. For attractions like Yehliu Geopark, Jinguashi, and the Shifen Sky Lantern experience, you might find it more effective to purchase a separate Fun Trip Yehliu-Shifen-Jiufen-Jinguashi (YES FOG JING) bus tour and use them together. Also, as a side note, I recommend adding the Funlab bag-making experience to your itinerary. It's surprisingly fun and provides a cool space for a short break. The wood glue they provide takes a long time to dry after attaching materials, so rather than rushing to sew, it's better to glue the pieces, put them in a plastic bag, carry them carefully, and by the next day, they should be completely dry. Using glue will save you a lot of time.

Finding M4 to get on the bus was easy. I took my first hop on with the blue line at 10:50 am and the red line at 14:50. I ended the 2 routes at past 6pm. That was fun, relaxing and enjoyable!

My first visit to the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum left a deep impression on me. The Southern Branch has a style that blends modern Chinese aesthetics, and the exhibitions inside are presented in diverse ways. Buying tickets on Klook was super convenient—instant purchase and use! The Southern Branch ticket was excellent value for money; my friend and I had a great time. The coolest part was that their stamps aren't regular ink stamps; they only appear when illuminated by a light. They don't stain clothes or smudge, which is awesome! I even asked a staff member to shine the light for me so I could take a picture. 😂 It was a very special trip, and I want to go again. Next time, I'll definitely use an e-ticket—it's so quick and convenient! 🫶

It's great way to visit all famous museums if you are crunched with time. However our tour guide had a bit difficulty in explaining the area/ history in english but you can still understand him a bit & he's sweet! Hassle free transfer to different museums especially in this June heat!

Mr. Ken was such a great guide! He was kind, friendly, and had a great sense of humor, which made our Yangmingshan & Beitou day trip so enjoyable and memorable. We did tours with two teams, and since we wanted a small group, the size was just right. Our guide, Cho Sook-jin, showed us as many artifacts as possible and really tried to share a lot of information, which made listening to the stories so much fun. I wish I had studied a little more history beforehand, but even people with no background knowledge can easily understand! I was worried about whether I'd be able to find the meeting point, but they designated an easy-to-find spot and even checked on our progress to make sure we met up safely and started the tour. Thank you very much.

Ms Lee Yu Ying gave a very informative tour that weaved historical narrative with the artifacts. Highly recommended to get a guide for the musuem tour to explain the details.
