Things to do in Nara Prefecture

Our Kyoto and Nara tour was extremely well organized and smooth from start to finish. The itinerary was clear, the timing was well managed, and everything felt stress-free—even while traveling as a family. Our tour guide Ellie was wonderful. She consistently checked on us, made sure we were okay, and guided the group with care and professionalism. We never felt rushed, and she made sure everyone was comfortable at every stop. Because of Ellie’s attentiveness and organization, we were able to fully enjoy Kyoto and Nara without worrying about logistics. It was a relaxing and memorable experience for our whole family. This trip with guide Oh Seok-bong was wonderful! He provided great travel tips, restaurant information, and even made lunch reservations, helping in every way to ensure we could focus on the trip. He was humorous and provided historical and social information about Kyoto and Nara, making the trip even more enriching. I had been hesitant, but it was a waste of time to worry. He even gave us restaurant information for our drop-off location to take care of dinner. While independent travel is good, it's also great to follow a well-planned schedule made by experts.

I recommend this trip for those with limited time during their Osaka visit. It’s a wonderful way to see three popular tourist spots in just one day. We started from Dotonburi at 8am and returned around 6:30pm. You’ll get about 2 hours to explore the Arashiyama area, 1 hour in Nara, and over an hour at Fushimi Inari Shrine. Just a heads-up: be punctual so you don’t miss the tour, which leaves without you if you're late. Be sure to plan your day wisely. We managed to squeeze in a quick lunch in Arashiyama since there wouldn’t be time to eat at the other spots.

We came from Nagoya and rode the shonkansen to Kyoto for our pickup. We came early before the pickup time but the bus came more or less 45mins after due to traffic from Osaka. The trip itself is good and we get to see a lot of tourist spots with my family. However since we started very late, we felt that all tour spots are crammed in time. Still, I would recommend this tour to everyone.

I really enjoyed this day tour. It’s such a stress free activity since you have a guide who will bring you to beautiful places and sceneries. Our guide was Harry and he did an awesome job. We got to see so many places that me and my family ould not have gone too. ai would recommend doing this tour and requesting Harry as your guide.

Both our kids were really looking forward to Mount Rokko Snow Park, and it didn't disappoint—especially for our 9-year-old. We wanted to try skiing, but the lessons fill up quickly (I believe there are only two slots a day). Instead, we spent our time sledding down the hill—the sled rentals were included in this tour, by the way—and building a snowman. Even with just those activities, the time flew by and the kids had loads of fun. We visited Nara Park afterward. Although it was our second time there, we got to explore a different part of the park than before, so it was a fresh experience for us. It was great seeing the shrines and feeding the deer again.

This trip was amazing. Fionna, our guide for this trip, was a phenomenol guide to the expedition. She is expressive with her words, face, and arms; moreover, she gets along with the vibes of the group. She is informative as she gives the background and history of each important landmark in our trip, laid out some important rules and precaution on what to do and not to do during the trip for each important milestone we reached on a trip, and looks out for the wellbeing of us tourist. Additionally, she gives quizzes after the trip which really makes us appreciate the insights we gained from the trip more - she even gave us chocolate candies for answering it correctly! Overall, I say the value was worth it as it as my family of five really had a positive experience of her.

It was our first trip to Japan with the kids, so we went with a mix of excitement and worry, but thanks to the bus tour, it was a very satisfying day. In particular, the guide's calm and informative explanations were great. If we had traveled from Osaka to Kyoto and Nara by subway, it would have taken a lot of travel time and we would have struggled to find our way, but being conveniently transported by bus allowed us to sleep during the travel time and recharge our energy. The kids were most satisfied with Nara Park. They were happy to see and touch the deer up close and to buy and feed them crackers. Fushimi Inari Shrine had beautiful colors, so the photos turned out really well. There were many bus tour groups at each destination, so it was crowded, but I felt that it was a good decision to take the bus tour and we had a satisfying day. Highly recommend it!^^
