- Hakone Volcanic Terrain and Onsen Culture: Ride the aerial tram to overlook Owakudani and the surrounding volcanic landscape, freely sample black eggs, and experience local delicacies and onsen culture.

What to expect
From Mount Fuji to Hakone, then a bullet train ride back to Tokyo, this journey is a dreamlike blend of natural grandeur, cultural depth, and the thrill of speed. Whether under a clear sky or amidst swirling mists, you can feel the unique charm of Japan's most iconic mountain and hot spring region.
- The itinerary begins with Mount Fuji, a symbol of Japan. From late April to the end of November, vehicles can directly reach the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station at an altitude of 2,305 meters, allowing you to admire the snow-capped peak up close, with magnificent views of the sea of clouds and lakes below. In winter, the tour will instead visit the Fujisan World Heritage Centre in Yamanashi Prefecture, which uses light and multimedia to showcase the seasonal changes of Mount Fuji, and you can also experience virtual climbing to feel the thrill of conquering the summit.
- After lunch, head to the Hakone area and take the Hakone Ropeway from Sounzan to Owakudani (Please be aware that from now until January 30th, the ropeway between Sounzan and Owakudani will be closed for maintenance, and transportation between Sounzan and Owakudani will be by bus). Along the way, you can see geothermal wonders with white steam billowing, and on a clear day, you can even see Mount Fuji in the distance. Upon arrival at Owakudani, take a free stroll through the volcanic remains, feel the power of nature, and don’t forget to taste a black egg, which is said to prolong your life by seven years.
- Continue by ropeway to Togendai, overlooking the tranquil beauty of Lake Ashi, a volcanic lake. Then, board the Hakone Pirate Ship, departing from Togendai and sailing through the scenery of lakes and mountains, as if you were in a fairytale dream. If the ropeway or boat is out of service, the itinerary will be flexibly adjusted to classic attractions such as Hakone Shrine or the Lake Ashi floating torii gate, which will still be wonderful.
- Finally, arrive at Odawara, where you can choose to take the Shinkansen (bullet train) on an unreserved seat back to Tokyo, experiencing the convenience and efficiency of Japan’s high-speed rail. The entire journey has a comfortable pace and a rich array of attractions, offering a comprehensive view of the most representative scenery and culture of the Kanto region, from the majesty of Mount Fuji to the dynamism of Hakone, and the speed of the Shinkansen.

Reviews
The trip to Mount Fuji and Hakone was very well-structured and organized, right from the beginning until the time we ended the trip via Shinkansen and returned to Tokyo Station. Our tour guide, Ms. Rachel, was excellent and had very good English pronunciation. She was able to explain about every location that we went to and was very punctual, driving the team back to the bus on time. The options of the meal for local Japanese cuisine were also good, and so was the venue. The variety of the meals could be slightly better, but overall, it was a decent meal break for lunch. The trip was enjoyable. Our stop at the fifth station of Mount Fuji was beautiful, allowing us to get a clear view of Mount Fuji after our morning start. This was followed by lunch around 11:00 or 11:15, then a visit to the Hakone Ropeway, and afterward, a ride on the amazing pirate ship. The return journey via Shinkansen was also a good experience. We were able to get seats in Shinkansen bullet train.
We booked this Mount Fuji & Hakone day trip through Klook and honestly, it exceeded expectations, easy 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Everything started smoothly with clear instructions on the bus stop and assembly point. It was very easy to find, which really helped set a stress-free tone for the day. Lunch was a highlight, definitely make sure your package includes it. The bento was delicious, with really good wagyu and crispy karaage. They also offer an unlimited drink option for just 500 yen per person, which is great value (coffee, soft drinks, and more available). Our guide, Leonard, was fantastic, super kind, accommodating, and even threw in some humor throughout the trip, which made the experience more enjoyable. The return trip via shinkansen was very efficient and a cool experience in itself, much faster and more comfortable than expected. Overall, a well-organized, smooth, and memorable trip. Highly recommend if you want a hassle-free way to explore Mount Fuji and Hakone in a day!
If you can't think of an itinerary, or are going to some remote places, I recommend Klook's local day tours. Convenient, point-to-point, no need to worry yourself. The tour I participated in this time, the tour guide was friendly and attentive. All in all, satisfied 👍🏻
one of the best one day trip which we had in trio. Arrangements made by the organisers were fantastic and we did not had any issues throughout our trip
Alex, the tour-in-charge, managed the tour professionallt and with much patience and consideration. Kudos to Alex's success!
mt fuji was amazing, we could see the peak.and the snow, lunch was gooad and bus meeting point easy to find. cable car had great views. pirate ship eide was neither here no there.
Pros -great guide , bus trip, return with train, Lunch, ConsDriver was late , no access to 5th station in Dec, alternate venue was disappointing , lake Ashi mediocre, shud rather optimise Fuji viewing
First, I want to say that our guide, Peter, was genuinely a kind and friendly person. I was running late at the beginning of the trip and he kindly waited for me for a few mins, which I really appreciated. However, there are some serious issues that need to be addressed. The van was quite old, noisy, and the seats were very uncomfortable. More concerning was the driving. The driver drove very fast on extremely curvy roads, constantly accelerating and braking. It felt unsafe and honestly quite scary. We raised this with Peter and while he did speak to the driver, the improvement only lasted a few mins before the same behavior continued. This was not just uncomfortable, it felt dangerous. The itinerary was also disappointing. We were taken to lunch at around 10:20 AM, which felt far too early and poorly planned. The restaurant was not very clean and had a noticeable damp smell, so I chose to skip it and grab a quick sandwich from 7-Eleven instead. all in all, I don’t recommend this tour.
Good to know
