What to expect
Sumo is a popular Japanese martial art and combat sport with a long tradition dating back to ancient times. This tour allows you to observe a serious sumo wrestler training session and take pictures with them. While matches are viewed from a distance, this is a valuable opportunity to see the powerful wrestlers up close, which is unique to training sessions. Enjoy a rare opportunity to witness active professional sumo wrestlers engaging in serious practice up close.
Visit the authentic “Takasago stable” sumo stable in Tokyo. Takasago stable is known as one of the most prestigious stables in the sumo world, having produced many Yokozuna (Grand Champion) and Ozeki (Champion), including 6 Yokozuna and 8 Ozeki to date.
The tour finishes in the morning, so we recommend taking your time to visit nearby Asakusa in the afternoon. This area offers sightseeing and shopping, including “Sensoji Temple,” Tokyo’s oldest temple, and “Kappabashi Kitchenware Town,” where you can find all kinds of cooking tools.

Reviews
Our group of 6 joined the Sumo Practice tour yesterday. It was seamless, from the meet up spot as planned and escorted to the stables by our amazing host. Watching the Sumos practice was mesmerising, totally surreal. The time flew by. We were so close that you could feel each impact as they practice. We were given a fact sheet that explained each of the moves which we appreciated. And at the end we were able to take photos with the Sumos, who seemed to enjoy interacting with the visitors once their practice was done. This was the most authentic experience we've had in Tokyo and unreservedly recommend.
The sumo morning training experience was something I wanted to see while in Japan. It was great to them and get a better idea and appreciation of the training they do for this ancient sport. Definitely a great experience that u would recommend to anyone. Our tour guide was so helpful and knowledgeable.
Excellent! The training is entertaining to watch and the klook staff is very attentive and considerate.
enjoyed the experience! unfortunately we are not able to take a photo together with them at the end but it's not the operator fault.
A very interesting training, exactly what I had imagined. The providers were very accommodating and kind, and the photos after the training were exactly what I wanted.
Wonderful experience! It's really worth it! Our guide was very nice and the sumos played the game to the fullest.
enjoyed myself! pretty cool experience! would recommend to everyone. but be prepared to sit for at least 2hours.
An absolutely amazing and authentic experience! Watching the morning training at Takasago Stable was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see sumo up close in its rawest form. The wrestlers' dedication, power, and discipline were incredible to witness — you could feel every collision and hear every breath in the quiet of the keiko-ba. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Tokyo who wants a genuine cultural experience. Worth waking up early for!
We attended a morning training session and it was honestly amazing. So different from anything we've seen before. Our host lady/guide met us and was just the most beautiful lady, so kind and friendly. We even met her boss and he was just as gorgous and kind. This is our first day in Japan and what a highlight and way to start our trip. I recommend this 10/10. Just amazing all round. Much love from 3 Aussies!
It was a very interesting experience, well organised and our English guide was super attentive. We really enjoyed watching the training session. Every move was well explained and we had the chance to take pictures with the wrestlers afterwards. Only thing which could be improved: It was not so easy to find the meeting point explained in the mail.. a small map would have been helpful. But we finally made it in time ;)
