What to expect
Arrival at the Stable Step into a traditional sumo stable. Exterior photos are welcome. Inside, our staff provides English interpretation to help international guests easily appreciate the culture, customs, and daily life of sumo.
Morning Practice Viewing Witness authentic, powerful sumo practice up close. To respect the wrestlers’ intense focus, guests must remain quiet. If a child becomes restless, our staff may guide you outside for a brief break.
Meeting Point & Access Go directly to Oshima-beya Sumo Stable (7-27-4 Aoto, Katsushika-ku, Tokyo). Staff will meet you at the venue. Please arrive by the designated time so you don’t miss the training.
Taxi (Recommended): A 10-minute ride from Aoto Station taxi stand (near A2 exit/Libre Keisei). Walking: 20+ minutes from the station.

Absolutely unforgettable Sumo experience! My girlfriend and I booked the experience including Sumo training, lunch and the traditional hair-binding ceremony. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. The training was completely authentic, not just a performance for tourists. The Sumo stable has a wonderful atmosphere, beautifully combining tradition and modern elements. Lunch was another highlight. Eating while experiencing the preparations and rituals of the wrestlers gave us a fascinating insight into their daily life. We were very happy to have chosen this package. A very special thank you to our host, Kyokutaisei Takuya, a former Sumo wrestler. He was incredibly friendly, open and happy to answer all our questions. We also sincerely thank Oshima-oyakata, the stable master and head coach, and everyone involved for welcoming us so warmly.
