Tokyo Sumo Morning Practice Tour with Ring-Side Seats + Photo Shoot

Marie was very knowledgeable and a legit fan of sumo. She took the time to answer questions i had and to clarify things for me. the sumo practice itself was fascinating to watch. The wrestlers hold nothing back and you can feel the force of the collisions. The physicality is real, and you will see bruises and some blood. The traditions and effort put forth by the wrestlers is there. Even with the full intensity they demonstrate respect and humility the whole time. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to see the real thing, but is unable to make it to a tournament.

The guide Masao was great. didn’t have the best english, but more than made up for it with his enthusiasm and joy. It was a really enjoyable morning and very impressive tour. Sumo is legit, and those dudes are serious athletes. My respect for what they do, and how hard they train went through the roof. Highly recommend.

A very interesting moment where we were able to appreciate all the rigor of this training!! Being a sumo is not necessarily what we think!! A bit long all the same especially for a 9 year old child with an early schedule. Thank you for this moment!!

We were unable to locate the appropriate meeting spot for the start of the tour. Thankfully the tour operator provided us with the location of the sumo stable only a few minutes away. Our guide was friendly and the experience overall was enjoyable.

incredible to see the sumo team up close during training. There were some courtesy rules to follow such as not drinking water, keeping feet on the ground, not chatting or making a noise - something to be aware of if you (or your kids) can’t sit still for 2 hours.

Awesome firsthand experience of sumo training, including a taste of the match; they go hard! They’re heavier than American football players but thanks to the rule of keeping feet on the ground, strategy around balance makes the fights more interesting. The stable where we attended has a rich history, too.

My spouse and I learned something about Sumo Wrestling. We have good photos taken and the guide is very nice.

It was an amazing experience.
