Departing from Kuching city at 7:00 AM, a 30-40 minute drive will take you to the pier for Bako National Park. From the pier, a 10-15 minute boat ride will bring you to Bako National Park itself. Inside the park, you can see wildlife such as monkeys, wild boars, and venomous snakes up close. The tour starts at 7:00 AM and runs until 2:00 PM. The walking portion through the forest is quite long, so it might be challenging for the elderly or those with limited mobility. We recommend getting plenty of rest the day before joining the tour. Our tour guides are highly professional, providing detailed explanations and ample safety instructions to ensure a secure wildlife observation experience, so you can participate with peace of mind. While many visitors to Kuching also explore places like the Sarawak Cultural Village and Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, the highlight of Kuching is truly Bako National Park. Although it's not the cheapest option, it's an experience you absolutely shouldn't miss. Finally, be sure to bring mosquito repellent to avoid mosquito bites.

We had a fantastic tour with Hans and his captain, who truly lived up to his nickname "Eagle Eye." We saw Irrawaddy dolphins, proboscis monkeys, crocodiles, and fireflies. The tour was very informative and had a good dose of humor. Our children had a lot of fun, and the food on board was delicious. The guides were very considerate of the animals, for example, frequently and promptly turning off the engine to avoid disturbing them. This was very important to us beforehand, as we want to protect nature and not overly disturb the animals with our presence. We found this to be very appropriate and can wholeheartedly recommend the tour.

recommended to sign up for the tour. the tour package includes the return transfer from hotel within designated area to site, the admission ticket, and the return buggy ride within the park. the tour guide also gave useful tips.

I took the tour this morning. It featured real jungle clues (unlike Disneyland, etc.), which really made me feel like I had come to Borneo. It was my first time joining, but we were lucky enough to see a crocodile and even dolphins (briefly). The tour guide was extremely kind, and I highly recommend it. Due to the arrangement, a one-day interval might be necessary, but booking locally might be cheaper (though I didn't compare it with booking from Japan).

We had a wonderful experience at Sarawak Cultural Village. Our tour guide, Jacky, was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. He guided us through each of the traditional Sarawak houses, sharing fascinating insights into their history, architecture, and unique cultural heritage. His engaging explanations made the visit both enjoyable and educational. We were warmly welcomed with a traditional cultural dance, which created a wonderful first impression. The stage performances were vibrant, entertaining, and showcased the rich diversity of Sarawak’s ethnic communities with great talent and energy. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kuching - it is an experience not to be missed!

Uma experiência realmente reveladora e divertida nas cavernas! Havia tantos morcegos e é fascinante vê-los de perto. Tivemos a sorte de avistar uma aranha viúva-negra também. O Sr. Jacky, nosso guia, foi simplesmente o melhor, muito afável e conhecedor da vida selvagem. Também aprendemos muito sobre a cultura de Kuching e recebemos várias recomendações de restaurantes dele.

Went for a Kuching walking tour, guided by Drika and had a very insightful experience! We walked through all the main heritage trails, and learned about the history of Sarawak, the Brooke family and reign, as well as the overall society and culture of Sarawak. We also stopped for a little lunch at La Tanza Cafe, that served satay and refreshing drinks, to cool down from the hot weather (bring your hats!!). I would recommend this walking tour, and thank you to Drika for being such a knowledgeable and fun tour guide!! 10/10 would recommend Drika as a tour guide as well!
