Departing from Kuching city at 7:00 AM, a 30-40 minute drive will take you to the pier for Bako National Park. From the pier, a 10-15 minute boat ride will bring you to Bako National Park itself. Inside the park, you can see wildlife such as monkeys, wild boars, and venomous snakes up close. The tour starts at 7:00 AM and runs until 2:00 PM. The walking portion through the forest is quite long, so it might be challenging for the elderly or those with limited mobility. We recommend getting plenty of rest the day before joining the tour. Our tour guides are highly professional, providing detailed explanations and ample safety instructions to ensure a secure wildlife observation experience, so you can participate with peace of mind. While many visitors to Kuching also explore places like the Sarawak Cultural Village and Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, the highlight of Kuching is truly Bako National Park. Although it's not the cheapest option, it's an experience you absolutely shouldn't miss. Finally, be sure to bring mosquito repellent to avoid mosquito bites.

We had a wonderful experience at Sarawak Cultural Village. Our tour guide, Jacky, was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. He guided us through each of the traditional Sarawak houses, sharing fascinating insights into their history, architecture, and unique cultural heritage. His engaging explanations made the visit both enjoyable and educational. We were warmly welcomed with a traditional cultural dance, which created a wonderful first impression. The stage performances were vibrant, entertaining, and showcased the rich diversity of Sarawak’s ethnic communities with great talent and energy. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kuching - it is an experience not to be missed!

Onze gids Lucian was de beste. Hij was hartelijk en zeer deskundig. De tour en ervaring waren geweldig.

Went for a Kuching walking tour, guided by Drika and had a very insightful experience! We walked through all the main heritage trails, and learned about the history of Sarawak, the Brooke family and reign, as well as the overall society and culture of Sarawak. We also stopped for a little lunch at La Tanza Cafe, that served satay and refreshing drinks, to cool down from the hot weather (bring your hats!!). I would recommend this walking tour, and thank you to Drika for being such a knowledgeable and fun tour guide!! 10/10 would recommend Drika as a tour guide as well!

Uitstekende gids toegewezen gekregen, wat de ervaringen van mijn zoon en mij in het natuurpark onvergetelijk maakt. Een speciale vermelding voor de heer Mas die zijn kennis genereus met ons deelde en ervoor zorgde dat mijn zoon en ik (stadsmensen) goed werden verzorgd. Ik beveel deze dagtour ten zeerste aan.

De tour was goed geregeld en we kregen een privéauto voor onszelf omdat er geen andere mensen waren. We hebben krokodillen en de ongrijpbare Irrawaddydolfijnen gespot tijdens de ochtendcruise.

Onze gids, Din (spelling twijfelachtig), was uitstekend en heeft ons echt geholpen om de best mogelijke ervaring te hebben. Hij was zo deskundig en goed voorbereid in elk facet van de tour. We zagen een grote verscheidenheid aan flora en fauna en leerden over de omgeving en cultuur van de lokale bevolking. De accommodaties en het eten in het park zijn niet luxe, maar ze zijn comfortabel en voldoende. Het park zou de achterste badkamerruimte van de hutten moeten afschermen. Onze reis naar Bako was het hoogtepunt van onze ervaring in Sarawak.

Seeing semi-wild orangutans were the highlight of our trip. The viewing experience of these magnificent animals roaming free is unlike your traditional zoo. Our guide, Mr Mas, is superb at finding and spotting all the various species in the caves. He was extremely eager to explain the biodiversity and terrain in there. You can tell that he is genuinely passionate about animals and nature. The joy of having such a passionate guide is contagious. He got all of us excited and very naturally bonded us as a group. Highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a unique experience of Broneo’s nature.
