Departing from Kuching city center at 7 AM, a 30-40 minute drive will take you to the jetty for Bako National Park. From the jetty, a 10-15 minute small boat ride will bring you to Bako National Park. Inside the park, you can see wild animals such as monkeys, wild boars, and venomous snakes up close. The tour starts at 7 AM and runs until 2 PM. The walking time in the mountains is quite long, so it might be challenging for the elderly or infirm. It is recommended to get plenty of rest the day before participating in the tour. The tour guide provides very professional explanations and gives sufficient safety precautions to ensure a safe wildlife observation tour, so you can participate with peace of mind. While many visitors to Kuching also go to the Sarawak Cultural Village or Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, the highlight of Kuching is truly Bako National Park. Although the price is not cheap, it is an experience you absolutely must have. Lastly, make sure to bring mosquito repellent to avoid mosquito bites.

It is recommended to sign up for the tour. The tour package includes round-trip transfer from hotels within the designated area to the site, the admission ticket, and a round-trip buggy ride within the park. The tour guide also provided useful tips.

We had a wonderful experience at Sarawak Cultural Village. Our tour guide, Jacky, was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. He guided us through each of the traditional Sarawak houses, sharing fascinating insights into their history, architecture, and unique cultural heritage. His engaging explanations made the visit both enjoyable and educational. We were warmly welcomed with a traditional cultural dance, which created a wonderful first impression. The stage performances were vibrant, entertaining, and showcased the rich diversity of Sarawak’s ethnic communities with great talent and energy. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kuching - it is an experience not to be missed!

Our guide, Din (spelling questionable) was outstanding and really helped us have the best experience possible. He was so knowledgeable and well prepared in every facet of the tour. We saw a great variety of flora and fauna as well as learned about the environment and culture of the local people. The accommodations and food at the park are not fancy but they are comfortable and adequate. The park should screen in the back bathroom area of the cabins. Our trip to Bako was the pinnacle of our experience in Sarawak.

Our guide, Lucian, was the best. He was warm and very knowledgeable. The tour and experience were great.

Went for a Kuching walking tour, guided by Drika and had a very insightful experience! We walked through all the main heritage trails, and learned about the history of Sarawak, the Brooke family and reign, as well as the overall society and culture of Sarawak. We also stopped for a little lunch at La Tanza Cafe, that served satay and refreshing drinks, to cool down from the hot weather (bring your hats!!). I would recommend this walking tour, and thank you to Drika for being such a knowledgeable and fun tour guide!! 10/10 would recommend Drika as a tour guide as well!

Seeing semi-wild orangutans were the highlight of our trip. The viewing experience of these magnificent animals roaming free is unlike your traditional zoo. Our guide, Mr Mas, is superb at finding and spotting all the various species in the caves. He was extremely eager to explain the biodiversity and terrain in there. You can tell that he is genuinely passionate about animals and nature. The joy of having such a passionate guide is contagious. He got all of us excited and very naturally bonded us as a group. Highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a unique experience of Broneo’s nature.

The tour was well arranged, and we managed to get a private car to ourselves as there were no other people. We managed to spot crocodiles and the elusive Irrawaddy dolphins during the morning cruise.

That was a well organised and very enjoyable tour. Billie, the guide, was quite knowledgeable and adjusted the itinerary and the food tasting to my needs. I learned a lot about kuching and the food and had a great time.
