We had a fantastic experience visiting the Sarawak Cultural Village and Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, and our tour guide, Hanafie, made the day truly special. He was engaging, informative, and made sure our whole family had a great time from start to finish. The highlight of the day was definitely Semenggoh—we were incredibly lucky to see the orangutans come out, and they hung around for a whole hour! It was a breathtaking sight and an absolute treat to watch them in their natural habitat. My kids (ages 12 and 14) thoroughly enjoyed both locations. Between exploring the traditional houses at the Cultural Village and watching the orangutans up close, it was the perfect mix of learning, culture, and nature for their age.

Saya sangat gembira. Ia adalah pengalaman yang membuka mata di perkampungan budaya untuk mengetahui tentang sejarah. Ia adalah tempat yang indah. Pusat hidupan liar juga menakjubkan, kami dapat melihat 6 ekor orang utan! Barisan untuk masuk sangat panjang dan sesak kerana cuti tetapi Encik Yusof berjaya membawa kami masuk dengan cepat! Beliau adalah pemandu pelancong yang sangat menyeronokkan dan mesra, sentiasa menghiburkan kami sepanjang lawatan. Beliau sangat berinformasi dan penuh dengan pengetahuan, kami banyak belajar daripadanya! Lawatan dan pemandu pelancong yang sangat disyorkan. Prosesnya mudah dan lancar.

We were picked up from our hotel lobby promptly and so we started the walking tour on time at the Sarawak Cultural Village ending with the perfect theater performance. Lunch was delectable, filling and flavorful. Semenggoh was amazing seeing 3 playful and active Orangutans in it’s habitat is a memorable experience. Our guide was truly knowledgeable and anticipates our needs. thank you

Good, informative and efficient tour. Punctual pickup at 8:30 at Hotel. very knowledgeable tour guide, speaks perfect English, who closely guided and explained things throughout the tour inside the Cultural Village and later at the Semenggoh Orang Utan Sanctuary. During our trip at the Semenggoh Sanctuary, the semi-wild Orang Utans were nowhere to be seen. This is because they have ample food in the jungle during fruiting season (Dec-Feb) and hence they did not visit the Sanctuary. Recommended to only take the half-day tour during such season.

Superb communication with the tour company prior to the tour. My questions were answered promptly. On the tour day, Mr. Yusuf arrived on time and quickly swept us off our feet! Lol Throughout the journey, he told us a lot of anecdotes about his beloved hometown and amazing city, Kuching. He never ceased to make my husband and I laughed! I have really bad knees and walked with an aid of a walking cane. Mr. Yusuf was very attentive and always made sure both my elderly husband and I were comfortable and safe. A very experienced, knowledgeable and fun guide. He’s a rockstar! Highly recommended. Thank you, Yusuf!

The guide Saini is friendly and knowledgeable. The cultural trip allows us to understand the Sarawak culture better and deeper understanding of the tribe daily activities. This day trip combines the cultural village and orangutan observation which is better for travellers with limited number of days in Kuching. We are lucky to see 4 orangutans. Ruby the orangutan who didn’t appear for months came to the feeding platform. We also saw a young orangutan, Sem, who is old enough to venture out on her own away from her mother. It is advisable to bring portable fans and mosquito repellent as you may stand in hot sun for a couple of hours. There is a washroom at the orangutan observation area. You can choose not to take electric buggy ride and walk from entrance to observation area. Some parts are uphill which may be challenging. We opt for electric buggy ride as we have elderly and children with us. The orangutan shown in the picture is Ruby.

Highly recommended attractions when you are at Kuching. At cultural village, I get to taste the tribes traditional sack and dance between the bamboo poles! The show was nice ended with a traditional lunch. We get to taste dishes like umai, terung assam soup etc. The semmengoh was a unforgettable place for us as we get to see 4 orangutans; Alvin the dominant male, a mother with a baby and a young orangutan. It was a lucky day. Thanks to our experienced guide Mr Saini ! we had a wonderful time 👍
