Ingresso para a Torre Goryokaku em Hokkaido

It was my second time to visit Goryokaku Tower, but the first time was in the autumn of 2023, and I'm so glad I was able to visit again this winter. Hopefully, I'll get to visit again when the cherry blossom trees are in full bloom.

I decided to grab this ticket when I was around Hakodate and the weather was clear. It's pretty cheap so that's always a good thing! The tower itself is quite worthwhile, although as mentioned, only go up on a relatively clear day - you won't see anything if it's foggy/snowing. The sight itself provides great 360 degree views of the city and of the fort. Pretty worthwhile and a nice way to spend the morning. Could just have a bit more English to explain the history as it was a bit limited. Of course, it's in Japan so completely understandable they don't have to cater to all other nationalities.

Klookで予約し、カウンターで携帯電話のレシートを見せて実際のチケットを引き換えることで、スムーズな体験ができました。女性のエレベーターオペレーターの方の優雅な歓迎を受け、上昇中に私たちに話しかけてくれる声がとても素敵でした。まさに日本的！上空から見る「星形要塞」の眺めは壮観です。その歴史に関する展示も素晴らしく、詳細にわたっていました。アイスクリームなどを販売するお菓子屋さんもあり、私はとても美味しい桜コーンのアイスクリームを食べました！頂上または1階には、より幅広い品揃えの素敵な記念品がたくさんあります。良いものがたくさんあります！そして最後に要塞公園を散策しました。なんて広大で美しい公園でしょう！アヒルがくつろいでいるのも見られます。

It was packed with tourists and crowded, but as always in Japanese style, they were organized to get a large number of people up to the tower to see the entire city of Hakodate and the amazing buildings in Goryokaku. From the port to this place, it took about 13 minutes by taxi and cost about 1800 yen.

I paid 1200 yen for an admission ticket to a spot that took less than 10 minutes to visit. Unless it's cherry blossom season, snowy season, or for night views, it's really not worth seeing. They're making a fortune on tickets. I didn't buy a single souvenir. It feels like a rip-off for tourists. It would be more worthwhile to spend that ticket money to see the night view from Mount Hakodate, or better yet, use it to eat a bowl of ramen at the nearby (Shio Ramen - Ajisai Honten). The Lucky Pierrot burger joint next door was packed, so be prepared for a wait. It's a one-time visit kind of place, with more foreigners (Europeans and Americans) and then Koreans. Amitabha.

チケットとの引き換えが簡単で、より安価でした。タワーからの眺めは素晴らしいです。公園には桜の木がたくさんあり、とても美しいです。朝の訪問はとても涼しく、楽しめました。

It's comfortable and very easy to use. You should print the paper and exchange it at the ticket counter. It's a must-visit place in Hakodate and Hokkaido. It would be even more beautiful if the cherry blossoms were in bloom.

Effortlessly exchange your physical vouchers at the counter. Goryokaku Tower and the castle are among Hakodate's main tourist attractions, and the view from the tower's observation deck is simply breathtaking! From the tower, you can enjoy a 360° panoramic view of Hakodate. There's also an exhibition space with a timeline and dioramas explaining the history of Goryokaku and Hakodate, which I found very interesting. We visited at the end of March, so most of the snow around the fortress had already melted, but the scenery was still beautiful. After visiting the tower, we also took a walk around the fortress.
