This is much more convenient than the over 3.5-hour journey from Sapporo to Hakodate. I bought this 6-day Tohoku and Southern Hokkaido Pass specifically for a trip to Hokkaido. Just the round trip from Tokyo to Hakodate made it worthwhile, so it's quite useful. However, it's important to note that this pass differs from the 5-day JR East Pass in terms of what it covers. This 6-day pass does not include JR buses, which meant we had to pay extra for the express buses from Morioka to Miyako and from Kuji to Ninohe, and they weren't cheap.

This pass can be used for the entire trip, starting from Akita, then traveling to Kakunodate, Morioka, Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto, Hakodate, Aomori, Sendai, Tokyo, and finally returning to Sendai to go to Sendai Airport. It's simply excellent value for money. I will repurchase it.

Starting from Sendai Airport, I visited Sendai, Yamagata, Morioka, Aomori, Iwate, and Hakodate!
