This small group tour was great with two very friendly and interesting guides to drive us through the amazing region of Auckland, Cambridge, Hamilton and Waitomo. The journey to the first stop in the Alexander Farm in Watamata to get to the movie set Hobbiton was extraordinary accross the countryside, with our two guides full of anecdotes about the history of the land. The visit of the movie set itself, with a great guide, was incredible, with a story to every Hobbit hole of the set and many fun stories of the behind the scenes of the movie shooting. The visit ends with the exploration of two remodeled Hobbit holes in which it is so fun to take photos among the furnitures. The Hobbiton tour is followed with a drink at the tavern the Green Dragon. After the movie set, it was fine having a well deserved lunch at a local authentic restaurant, and to the next step: the exploration of the mysterious Waitomo Glowworm Caves, a wonder of NZ, with a passionate local guide. Brad was an excellent guide. I often get stomach aches and motion sickness, but there were regular restroom breaks, and the driving was smooth with no sudden stops, so I felt very comfortable. Of course, the scenery, the Hobbiton Village tour, and the glowworm tour were all wonderful. Even though I'm not good at English, it was a small group tour, so everyone was friendly, and I had a great time.

Great tour to Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves. Cheeky Michael was a great driver and guide. Picked up on time at our hotel. Stopped at a local cafe for breakfast, can recommend the boysenberry sticky pudding. Hobbiton was so beautiful and really amazing to see where they filmed scenes from LOTR. So cool to walk through the hobbit homes that they have recently included. Lunch included which was good and big portions, thanks Thirsty Weta. Waitomo caves was beautiful. Recommend for those who don’t want to drive as quite some distance on the road with windy parts! Overall enjoyable day.

The pickup was very on time. The drive was comfortable and smooth with water and little snacks and our guide Grant told us stories about the places along the way and where we were heading to. He was very nice and funny and could answer any questions we asked, also sorted out all ticketing so we didn't have to do anything. We just ate and had fun the hobbiton movie set and glow worm caves were incredible and magical i love it!!! super pretty. On the way back we got to stop at an ice cream place and that was a really nice touch and we got home smoothly. Thank you for the trip ~

Great experience. The tour makes you appreciate the amount of work that was put through in creating this part of the movie. Our driver, Brendan was knowledgeable of other tourist attractions and recommendations. Waitomo Caves were pretty awesome, with our guide Taylor explaining the cave structure and the glowworm. The boat ride to see the glowworms felt short, so this would have been nicer if it was a little longer. We also stopped by to see some local Ostriches and the chance to feed them also. Great trip!

This is one of the best tours I booked so far. Best tour guide Liam, best group and everyone is down to earth, the itinerary is very organised. It’a worth the time and money.

We were incredibly lucky to have Liam as our guide for the Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves day tour! From pick-up to drop-off, Liam demonstrated exceptional professionalism and enthusiasm. The itinerary was perfectly organized, and his commentary along the way was very informative. What surprised us most was that he not only thoughtfully prepared water and various snacks throughout the journey, but the quality of the group meal far exceeded our expectations—we initially thought it would be a standard, perfunctory group meal, but it turned out to be exquisite and delicious, truly showing his dedication! Furthermore, while in the forest outside the Waitomo Caves, Liam shared a lot about New Zealand's native plants and natural ecology with us; and at Hobbiton, he enthusiastically helped everyone find the best angles for photos. This was absolutely a perfect, beyond-expectations trip! We wholeheartedly recommend Liam to anyone planning a trip soon; meeting him was the greatest fortune! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely tour! Highly recommended. Everything was on schedule, and Hobbiton and Waitomo were both lovely. Smooth driving, clean vehicle, overall fun and memorable experience!
