Such a fun activity to add to your Kyoto itinerary. Mizuki and Sara were amazing! Would 100% recommend. Delicious mochi and a fun way to learn about Japanese cuisine. Thank you!

I want to give a huge thanks to Sara and Mizuki for providing my brother and I such an enjoyable first experience today! Sara and Mizuki are both friendly, approachable, and are conversible. They both offered many photo and video opportunities, such as when my brother and I were pounding the mochi, filling it and coating it with a variety of ingredients, and even after the main events were over. They went over the various types of mochi and how they're prepped and what fillings they use, so it was interesting to hear a bit of history behind the food and its cultural significance in Japanese culture. They made fun small talk with our group and helped foster a casual and relaxed atmosphere. For a first time experience, it was one to remember. Thank you!

Great family experience. Instructors were fun and introduced the basics of mochi, but don't expect mastery from a one hour class. It will take work. Totally suitable for all ages, our 7 year old had a great time.

It was a really fun experience Haruki was a great instructor and taught us very well! Telling us about some of the history of mochi. Sei and Soma were really good too. they were all so lovely and really helpful. the mochi tasted super good and we got green tea which was a plus 😆😆😆But definitely recommend if you need something to do the boys were super sweet and funny!

It was one of the absolute highlights of my trip! The two young men who led the workshop were incredibly kind and friendly. At the beginning, they told a small, interesting story about Mochi, and then I got to try making it myself. They patiently and kindly answered every question and both spoke perfect English. It was a lot of fun and totally authentic. Definitely one of the best activities I did in Kyoto – I can only highly recommend it! 😊

Esta clase de elaboración de mochi fue uno de los puntos culminantes de nuestro viaje a Japón. La instructora, Karin, fue amable, paciente e hizo que la experiencia fuera divertida y educativa. Aprendimos sobre la historia y el significado cultural del mochi antes de ponernos manos a la obra y hacer el nuestro. Incluso la historia sobre la luna y los conejos. El proceso fue interactivo. El mochi que hicimos sabía increíble, ¡tan fresco y suave! Me encantó que pudiéramos disfrutar de lo que creamos. Recomiendo encarecidamente esta experiencia a cualquiera que visite Japón. ¡Es una actividad cultural única y memorable!

What a fun activity for adults and kids… our group had two, ages 7 & 10. After a demo, each person got to pound or turn the mochi. interesting process. then we sampled our mochi with various toppings and dips. it is located inside a lovely modern theater!

The instructor was amazing, so welcoming and understanding. It was the best experience. Mochi was amazing and the atmosphere was so good. Thank you very much for this amazing experience, most kind lovely lady.

The entire experience was fantastic, and we learned so much about Japanese culture! The instructor guided us through the session exceptionally well!
