Quioto: Tour de Joias Escondidas em Gion e Cultura das Gueixas

Las luces nocturnas son asombrosas y crean una atmósfera mágica. Fue una experiencia agradable conocer la historia de las geishas y pasear por el antiguo barrio de Kioto, descubriendo Pontocho con sus deliciosos restaurantes y su vibrante ambiente. Especialmente en esta temporada, con los cerezos en flor por toda la ciudad, que dan color a la zona y un toque romántico. Tuvimos una buena experiencia y todo estuvo bien preparado en todos los eventos. Wajad, el guía turístico, fue un excelente narrador de historias y explicó con precisión cada aspecto de la zona y de la gente que vive en Gion. Muy satisfechos de haber tenido un guía tan bien preparado.

Tuvimos un gran recorrido al atardecer con nuestro guía, Logan, quien nos brindó mucha información sobre el distrito de Gion y la historia y los acontecimientos de la vida de una geisha. Ninguna pregunta quedó sin respuesta. Lo disfrutamos muchísimo, solo deseamos que hubiera hecho más calor.

This was an amazing tour, such good value and so informative. Ton our guide moved us at a good pace, shared great information and was very personable. Departing at dusk was THE BEST as we watched the lights come on down the small laneways and in the shrines. The route was so good we ended up retracing those same steps today. I would highly recommend this walking tour.

We went on the tour of Kyoto with Thea. Our group was around 10 people and lasted for about 2.5 hours. What a great way to get to see and understand the history of Kyoto. Both my 9 & 12 year old loved the tour as well, even more than the kitsunge workshop that we took earlier today. Thea was great in how she gave the group time to take photos, pray at different shrines if we wanted to, and helped capture nice family photos. Tip: Book a time about an hour before sunset so you can see some of the temples in daylight but also see Gion at night with lanterns.

Our guide Ken was very informative and patient. We even had a chance to see a Maiko walking down the street! Booking a late afternoon/evening tour is better on hot/sunny days. Thanks for the interesting history of Kyoto. It truly is a beautiful city! I wish we spent more time here to explore.

This was the highlight of our entire trip. We’re still talking about it two weeks on! Luis was a fantastic guide - he was patient, insightful and full of local knowledge. Walking through Gion’s streets and learning about geishas and their training was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. I’d go every night if I could! I’d absolutely recommend booking an evening slot - we booked 7pm. This meant the area was quieter and we could stop and take it all in without the chaos and crowds of the daytime. Cherry blossom season made it extra memorable for us! We went back and retraced our steps a few nights later ourselves. Such a great tour - absolutely book it! We’ll be back.

Aye was a fantastic guide, humorous and knowledgeable. It was like listening to a friend telling you a story. We thoroughly enjoyed it, even saw a Geisha and Maiko. The sakura at night was stunning to witness.
