Gubei Water Town is a beautifully designed, man-made town that perfectly captures the feel of ancient China. While not all stalls were open during my visit, the experience was still memorable. The Night Great Wall is spectacular, offering a stunning view of Gubei illuminated below. To top it off, the hot springs are clean and refreshing. Tour Guide (GuoJia) is friendly and helpful.

We come from Italy and were fascinated by Gubei! Many thanks to the guide who, even though she only spoke Chinese, wrote everything down for us with a translator to help us understand. Perfect hotel and breakfast, beautiful and very convenient Great Wall (paid separately 180¥ per person), and also a very nice and relaxing spa with a view of the Great Wall. Excellent transportation both to Gubei and within the village. Convenient price for the service offered.

Tour guide Old Zhang contacted us two days in advance, which was very reassuring. His explanations along the way and upon arrival were very detailed, giving us a complete understanding before the trip. We could choose our free experiences well, and our vacation mood was at its peak. Thank you.

What a wonderful experience visiting Gubei WTown. You got plenty of time (self-guided) to roam around the town. The Tour Guide going to the town is very nice, and helpful. He assisted is very carefully (including registration etc. )

This may be a tourist park but it's beautiful and adds a lot to a Great Wall visit. The wall is authentic and that's all that matters. I was very lucky and the guide spoke English so it was seemless. Only a guide for the transfer to the park and to arrange all Of the tickets - then you're on your own. So not a true tour but it's exactly what I wanted and needed. Advice: don't bother the upgraded hotel. It was actually a down grade if you ask me. It was outside the park entrance! It's a nice hotel but nothing special. I thought id be staying at the actual hot spring in the park right at the wall but was very disappointed upon arrival. It actually makes it more expensive in some ways because you need the full boat ride to get to the entrance and you waste precious time walking in and out. Just stay in the park. The Great Wall is amazing & has lots of stairs and uneven steep sections. It didn't say it anywhere I saw but you really should wear closed toes hiking shoes not sandals

This was a 2-day, 1-night trip, primarily arranged with coach transfer services. Gubei Water Town has beautiful scenery, and watching the sunset from the Great Wall was a wonderful experience! You can also take a cable car up the Great Wall, making it suitable for seniors and children. However, the only drawback was that on the return journey, only a regular small bus was arranged, which felt a bit cramped.

We were lucky to have Lao Zhang (老张) as our tour guide. She is efficient and her instructions are clear and concise. She also has a sharp sense of humor. She shared useful mini-programs within WeChat for navigating Gubei Water Town. We prefer a no-frills trip, and Gubei Water Town is definitely worth an overnight stay to explore thoroughly. The hotel stay was also very comfortable.
