Our guide was Jane, and she texted us a day before to confirm the details and provide clear instructions for the actual day. On the day itself, Jane was very friendly and gave clear information on the plan, as well as excellent suggestions for our own itineraries. She shared everything in both English and Chinese, ensuring everyone could understand her. The day tour itself was mostly free and easy, and Jane shared a lot about the water town and the Great Wall on the bus. We had plenty of time to explore both the water town and the Great Wall. We did the Great Wall in the evening and had the most wonderful weather and view during golden hour. I would recommend visiting the Simatai Great Wall over Badaling and Mutianyu, and I will definitely recommend booking this day tour.

My first join-in tour and experience was great! Our tour guide Susie contacted us the night before to confirm the meet-up details and set up a group chat to share clear instructions on where to meet. The meet-up was seamless. During the tour, even though there was a mix of different itineraries, she had everything well under control, taking care of everyone's needs. Her attention to detail and thoughtfulness really gave me peace of mind, as this was a self-guided tour and we were very far from town. I'm glad everything turned out well, and we truly enjoyed our day at Gubei Water Town and the night tour of Simatai Great Wall. We thought we would miss the sunset due to sudden heavy rain, but the sun came out minutes later, and we still managed to catch a glimpse of the sunset. I highly recommend this tour to those who like a less crowded Great Wall experience. Do engage Susie!

We had a very pleasant and well-organized tour experience. Our guide Lucy was excellent—kind, helpful, and very informative. She provided detailed information one day in advance regarding the meeting point and the full itinerary, which made everything very clear and easy to follow. She also offered us different options for visiting the Great Wall, which allowed flexibility based on our preferences. Thanks to this well-arranged planning, our time was used very efficiently throughout the trip, and we were able to enjoy each destination without feeling rushed. The overall arrangement was smooth and well-coordinated, making the entire journey comfortable and stress-free. As an additional note, we were also able to find a very nice halal Chinese restaurant in Gubei Water Town. This is particularly valuable for Muslim travelers, as halal food options can be limited in some tourist areas. It made the experience even more inclusive and enjoyable for our group.
