I was planning to try on a kimono during our family autumn foliage trip, but the price was higher than expected, so I was hesitant until I found out about Ookini! It was much cheaper than other places, so I was a bit skeptical, but I decided to go for it and made a reservation!! And guess what!! I regret the time I spent worrying ㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜ I loved it sooooo much!!!!!!! The staff were incredibly kind, and for 6 adults and 1 infant, it took about an hour to get ready!!! My parents loved it too ㅜㅜ The infant kimono was so cute I almost fainted... The staff are truly the best ㅜㅜ Don't hesitate, do it here!!! It's half the price of other places, and they have a wide variety of kimonos, and they do your hair and provide bags!!!!!! Thank you again to the staff >.<

It was a wonderful experience! The staff were all very friendly and actively helped me with styling suggestions when I wasn't sure what to choose. The kimono prices were very reasonable! Being able to wear such beautiful kimonos for photos fulfilled a long-held dream of mine. The elaborate hairstyles were also done beautifully; my friends all complimented them! I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back if I have the chance.

Absolutely, incredibly satisfied... The emotional value was off the charts, I was so, so happy! I'll recommend this place to anyone coming to Japan! The package was great value, the service was patient, gentle, and thoughtful, and the kimono styles were beautiful. There was no forced consumption whatsoever, and you didn't have to lift a finger; there were very professional ladies to help with putting on and taking off the kimono. The hairstyle was super beautiful. I even had foreign friends take my picture in the bamboo grove path – a super pleasant experience. Don't miss this shop, the lace kimonos are just too beautiful!

I am absolutely amazed by this experience. The girls are so attentive and kind, and I truly appreciate your hard work. Photographer Paul is one of a kind; this was my first photoshoot, and I loved it. He makes you feel comfortable and shows you all the best poses.

We arrived past 10 am, and there were limited people at the place, so we got the first choice of kimonos. We decided to add 30 minutes of photography, and Paul was great! There were four of us, and we enjoyed the photoshoot a lot. It definitely is worth it. Makeup is almost double the price of the Kimono, so I did not add that. There were already good choices for basic hair, so we did not upgrade. Definitely worth your money. You can wear the kimono up to 5:30 pm, but we had to return it early as we needed to ride a boat. The place is close to many tourist spots, so it is a great option.

The store employees spoke limited English, but it was enough for both of you to understand each other. All the kimono accessories (i.e., handbag, footwear & socks, etc.) were included in this package, so it's great value for money in my opinion. You can choose/customize basically everything to your liking. Even though I chose the basic hairstyle, I was still very satisfied with how it turned out. Overall, a great experience where I got to stroll around for a few hours in a kimono around the area.

My family (including seniors and children) and I are incredibly grateful! The two ladies in the shop and the photographer were friendly and kind. Not only were the kimonos beautiful, but the hairstyles were also lovely. Despite the cold weather, they were very accommodating when we repeatedly went back and forth to retrieve items, our coats, and to use the restroom. My family and I are extremely satisfied with this trip and highly, highly recommend it.

Highly recommended! A wonderful Arashiyama kimono experience 🌸 This experience was truly perfect! The Japanese makeup was exquisite, and the kimono was of excellent quality and comfortable to wear. The staff were friendly and spoke Mandarin, so communication was completely seamless, leaving us with the most beautiful memories of our Arashiyama trip. Additionally, I highly recommend their photography service! The photographer was very kind and skilled at guiding us, and their photography techniques were incredibly professional. All the candid shots were stunning. I sincerely recommend this to everyone, thumbs up! 👍✨
