Fantastic 5.0
I had a wonderful stay at Pegasus Apart’Hotel and would happily stay here again! The room was cleaned daily, always smelled fresh, and was equipped with useful amenities such as a microwave, kettle, kitchen utensils, and a mini refrigerator, making my stay very comfortable. Housekeeping regularly changed the towels and linens, made the bed, and refilled toiletries. A few times some coffee sachets were missed, but reception quickly sent refills when requested. I was especially impressed by the staff’s responsiveness. When my hair dryer broke, I called reception and someone came to check it immediately and provided a replacement. The Wi-Fi was stable throughout my stay, and every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and helpful. Although the view from my room wasn’t quite what I expected, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thank you to the entire team for making my visit so comfortable and memorable. I will definitely be booking with you again the next time I return.

Fantastic 5.0
Choosing a hotel in Melbourne's CBD (Central Business District) offers the ultimate advantage: unparalleled convenience! You'll not only benefit from the Free Tram Zone, making it easy to reach major attractions and hidden laneway cafes, but also enjoy an unbeatable selection of nearby restaurants, supermarkets, and shopping. While real estate in the city center is premium, often leading to higher room rates and smaller rooms, the time and energy saved on transportation are absolutely worth it. For first-time visitors to Melbourne or travelers who prefer a lively and convenient location, the CBD is definitely the top choice for exploring this vibrant, culture-rich city!

Very comfy and spacious, close to the southern cross station so transit was smooth, walkable distance to museums, CBD, and other spots in the city centre

Fantastic 5.0
It is our first time to stay on an ibis hotel and it did not disappoint. The location is near the trams and train station. There are a lot of food sources nearby. The check-in/check-out was a breeze. We were able to map out where to stroll and dine with the help of the very accomodating front desk. We will surely stay again on an ibis hotel in the future.

More about Melbourne hotels

Overview of staying in Melbourne

Expect a noticeable price gap between the most affordable rooms and the top-end ones: premium rooms sit roughly in the middle while the priciest options cost about two and a half times more than the cheapest economy choices. For most travellers the best balance of comfort and value is the premium tier.

How hotel classes compare and who they suit

Economy rooms are the entry point — the cheapest option and a sensible choice for strict budgets or short stays. Standard rooms step up modestly in comfort and price, appealing to travellers who want a bit more space without a big cost increase. The biggest decision jump comes between premium and luxury: premium offers the best value and is the midpoint for most visitors, while luxury represents a significant price rise for travellers seeking top-tier accommodation. Luxury rooms sit well above the rest and suit those prioritising high-end amenities and service.

When travellers book

Room rates are typically lowest in 09 and highest in 10, so a budget-led trip is best planned for September when nightly rates trend lower. Rooms are commonly booked around three weeks in advance, so you can keep plans fairly flexible but should lock in dates earlier if travelling in pricier periods.
